Last year on the blog I brought you 2016’s hottest colour couple; red and charcoal. It was a stunning combination of soothing softness mixed with punchy warm accents. Just talking about it has me excited that Autumn is finally here again. If you want to see what all the fuss was about, you can click here to look at the dreamy photos of red and charcoal doing their thing in the bedroom. It was truly something.
Now, if red and charcoal have you smitten (and why wouldn’t they?), you’re more than welcome to rock this colour couple again in 2017. But before you decide on your Autumn shades, let me show you another sublime option. Because if you ask me, this season is all about blush and grey.
The added bonus is that you can win a prize pack in these gorgeous shades from my friends at Lorraine Lea. All the details are the end of this post. You’re welcome! 😉
Blush & Grey Decor Love this Autumn
The biggest selling point when it comes to blush and grey as a colour couple is that together, they’re the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. I always veer toward any aesthetic that achieves this sense of balance, because it makes your space feel well resolved. There’s a great contrast between the two shades but it’s not visually shocking. And in a space like a bedroom, nobody wants to be visually shocked!
The other bonus of blush and grey together is that you can control the dominant tone. Obsessed with pinks? Turn up the blush by rocking a bold feature wall. Or lay out a blanket across your bed like in the photo below. The Ultra Soft Blanket you see here is lightweight but wonderfully warm – and I love the embossing.
If grey is the colour you want to feature more of, go for it! Use dusty blush tones in accent pieces like bedside table accessories, or cosy cushions. Even a pop of pink flowers is a really nice touch against a grey backdrop. It’s all up to you!
Blush and Grey: Versatile and Easy to Introduce
Blush and grey are no wallflowers; they’re happy playing with just about every other colour in your home’s current palette.
They’ll work with black, white and beige. Plus you can introduce mint and indigo tones into the mix if you want to make the look more stimulating and visually varied.
In terms of other materials, warm metallics like copper and brass will work wonders with a blush and grey palette. As will both light blonde tones or moodier brown and black furniture.
It really is such a versatile colour combo. And if you look to pieces in these tones that feel cosy and tactile (like the Harper throw below; don’t you just want to touch it?), it’ll make the entire scene so cosy!
Hopefully your mind is as blown as mine is by the ravishing colour combo that is blush and grey. I love the sense of warmth it brings to a room. And as an avid fan of Autumn (I am so glad that summer is over!), I cannot wait to curl up under a blush blanket, grab a grey cushion and watch some trash TV. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is my current guilty pleasure. I won’t apologise for it – I’m hooked!

I would love to see this soft colour combo against the grey and white palette in our kids to room. They would love the colours and textures!
Love, love blush and grey! These colors never go out of fashion and look great together. They look so cozy and comfy, awesome for the cooler days coming up. Totally gorgeous and Lorraine Lea is the best quality ever!
I am SOOOOOO impressed to see some beautiful faux fur and hide products, absolutely gobsmacked (!), that look amazingly luxe and soft.
And seriously who can escape this colour combo! I see it as a blend of all the seasons, as well as the ‘blush’ softness of dance and a soothing home on a ‘grey’ rainy day. This package would set anyone up for the cosiest and perfectly hued winter months
Grey is timeless, and tastefully blended with the gorgeous light pink and stunning textures, it just oozes style and warmth! And you cannot go past the amazing quality of Loraine Lea. Total luxe!
They look so cosy and snuggly that my other half (and the kids) would love them for the comfort factor while I would adore them for the style injection it would give our lounge room.
Finally a way to get some pink into my house – even with 2 daughters I am the only one who loves pink.
Blush pink with grey is such a lovely elegant colour way!
Blush and Grey! Just stunning, I love this colour scheme and set because it has such a relaxing vibe and leads to a sense of chic grandeur!
The new colours are the perfect balance of masculine grey and feminine pink that would look stunning in any room of the house. I love the mix of textures which create even more interest and comfort.
I am loving blush and grey this season as they are a subtle and sophisticated way of adding colour with the cooling colours everybody loves indoors as the weather gets cooler. Love, love, love.
Just found your blog! So good! Grey and blush has long been a fave combo – grey is my favourite colour (some say oddly) and blush has an earthy dustiness to it that erases any sickly sweetness. Perfect together. What I love about the products is the colours combined with TEXTURE – the key ingredient to make them (and a room) come alive. Not to mention they’d look amazing in my current grey/blush with black, white, blonde wood and hints of teal colour scheme! Fingers crossed
I love Autumn! April is my birthday month and I adore the cooler temperatures. This Lorraine Lea Autumn collection is divine, the mix of textures and warm colours are perfect.
