  1. Love this article. Any hot tips on where to find patterned (contemporary luxe style) round rugs that don’t break the bank?
    Thanks

    1. Round rugs can be elusive! Miss Amara have a fairly wide range, but probably not the style you’re after. Temple & Webster can have some good low budget options.

  2. Thanks Chris, I was trying to decide whether to have a rug under the dining table in our living/dining room, but after reading your advice I think I’ll just stick with a rug in the livingroom section of the room for now.

  3. Sometimes you just have to have a rug – to keep your neighbours happy! I live in a unit and hate it when you hear chairs being dragged out in someone else’s unit.

Another thing that I often consider when buying a dining rug,
is the style of chair legs. If your legs have particularly pointy/slim ends, they may be hard to drag out and actually get caught in the rug – that’s why I tend to buy chairs with sleigh legs. This kind of chair also tends to leave less of a footprint (rug compression), as the weight is more evenly distributed.

I love a rug under a dining table – it’s just another means of expressing yourself!!

  4. This has been soooo insightful. Thanks for sharing! And the imagery just makes me want to rush into freedom like yesterday!!!!!!

  5. Off the subject, but where may I source the white dining room chairs on your photograph, do you need a rug under your dining table?

  6. Rugs under dining room tables are a must in winter. Even if they are a little inconvenient when you have young children who drop food!

    1. I hear you Carolyn. I am already suffering with cold feet as it is and we haven’t even finished with Autumn yet!
