Colourful Kitchen Cabinetry Ideas: Inside 6 Brand New Releases from Kaboodle

Colourful kitchen cabinetry has been trending for a while now. In fact, it’s become so popular that it’s set to stay indefinitely – you heard it here first!

If you’ve been keen to embrace hue in this part of your home, now is the time to do it. After all, whites and light greys have had their time, don’t you think? Nothing invigorates the senses quite like colour, and the latest trends collection from Kaboodle proves it.

With a varied palette that ranges from grounded to earthy, organic to optimistic, there’s a tone to suit every home. So scroll on as I show you inside the six stunning colours available – and don’t forget to drop me a comment at the end of the post letting me know which trend you’re swooning over.

This post is produced in partnership with kaboodle kitchen.

Colourful Kitchen Cabinetry Trend 1: Matchamisu

You know I’ve been saying this for a while now; the Australiana design vibe is here to stay. This look embraces earthy greens and organic shapes, along with black accents and matt finishes. If this sounds like your kinda vibe, then Matchamisu is for you.

As part of their new trends launch and to bring the colours to life, kaboodle teamed up with Masterchef All-Stars winner Emilia Jackson, which is why each look is named after a popular dessert. And just like the popular treat, this kitchen feels pretty decadent.

It’s the hint of luxury that takes it to the next-level for me. You have that beautiful rich green joinery (made from premium thermoform, so it’s scratch and scuff resistant), topped with a hint of gold in the handles. It’s a considered approach that results in a wonderfully balanced aesthetic; it’s elegant, but not over the top.

The joinery also features a matt, soft-touch finish and the latest anti-fingerprint technology from Europe.

Colourful Kitchen Cabinetry Trend 2: Chia Pudding

This one is also part of kaboodle’s premium thermoformed family. Not only does that make Chia Pudding scratch resistant, but it performs well in UV conditions too. So if you have concerns about darker cabinets in sun-drenched kitchens, your fears are allayed with this joinery.

This rich shade of grey injects instant mood into your kitchen, but also ensures there’s sophistication at play. Pairing it with a marble-look in countertops and splashbacks is a pared-back approach that allows the quality of the material to do the talking. It doesn’t need any bells and whistles.

Fingerprints on dark cabinets is a constant worry for you, I know. But rest assured you won’t have those sorts of dramas here. This also features anti-fingerprint technology from Europe, so maintenance is a breeze.

Colourful Kitchen Cabinetry Trend 3: Shortbread

If you love a raw and organic aesthetic, then Shortbread – made from premium melamine – is right up your alley. Featuring buttery tones throughout, it’s a plywood vibe with a matt grain-look. The perfect alternative to timber!

This style of cabinetry shines in a neutral space where crisp white and soothing grey and hints of striking black are present. So many of you love that organic, Scandi vibe at home, so this style of kitchen will be in-keeping with that entire look and feel.

It also looks fabulous in a kitchen filled with light. Connecting it to the outdoors is a great idea here, and blurs the lines between interior and exterior perfectly.

Colourful Kitchen Cabinetry Trend 4: Cheesecake

Interiors are getting warmer again. After years of cool tones dominating, we’re finally looking to sunny tones to keep our interiors feeling rich and inviting. That’s where Cheesecake premium thermoformed kitchen cabinets come into play.

This joyous hue of yellow evokes a creaminess that we’ve not seen in kitchens in decades. It’s a welcome change indeed. Providing a soft and relaxed natural palette, it plays well with brassy accents, light stone hues and matt black moments.

As you can see above, applied to shaker style cabinets, Cheesecake feels somewhat nostalgic; a new way to channel the traditional without it feeling overly retro. But of course, it can be applied to a number of door profiles if you want something different.

Colourful Kitchen Cabinetry Trend 5: Berry Sorbet

This one’s not for the faint hearted, it must be said. But what’s so good about Berry Sorbet is that you can team it with a neutral tone to take some of the drama out of the rose pink finish. Not that you have to, of course. If you want to go all out, cover every inch of your kitchen in it!

This premium thermoformed panelling shines best when confidently paired with greys, marbles and stones. You can see it in the image above; a nice balance of dazzling and dapper when the pink and charcoal lay side-by-side.

In terms of accessories, think handles in black, a little natural greenery brought in to give a nod to nature, and a hint of warm timber in smaller decorative moments to make the space soar.

Colourful Kitchen Cabinetry Trend 6: Bubble Gum

If you’re often drawn to a blue that feels rich and elegant in tone, it’s hard to go past Bubble Gum. That’s not to say it’s majorly high-drama though; there’s still a sense of softness at play with this premium thermoformed cabinetry colour.

What I like about this hue – as you can see – is how well it plays with concrete-look countertops and light timber tones. It’s ideal for those of you who love an industrial vibe but are tired of the all-black approach. Or, if you’re into a luxe marble look, it’ll work alongside that too.

It’s available in both modern and alpine door profiles, so you can keep the look sleek and simple, or opt to go in a more shaker direction to channel the traditional.

Which coloured kitchen cabinetry trend from Kaboodle’s latest trends range is your favourite? I’m locking in the dazzling green of Matchamisu right here and now as my numero uno. Drop me a comment below and share which hue you’re drawn to – I’d love to get your take!

  1. I’m with you Chris, I love the Matchamiso intensity. Though the shortbread also looks great as a contrast with coloured cabinetry. The names are making me salivate for some dessert though!

  2. I love the Matchamisu too. Something that stood out is how well they all go with a classic white tile (although with some really cool patterns in there). I like these a lot more than kitchens with dramatic coloured cabinets AND dramatic coloured marble or other patterned backsplashes/tiles. The white tiles here bring in the pattern, but provide a soothing contract to the solid colour cabinets.
