Charlie and Fenton leaf design tablecloth The Life Creative Urban Jungle range

Check out the New Charlie and Fenton Designer Tableware Range

The dining table has gotta be the piece of furniture that gets neglected the most when it comes to decorating. This post is going to inspire you to deck out this zone of your home, though, and there’s a competition thrown in for good measure.

The Melbourne brand set to reinvent your dining room is Charlie and Fenton. You may have come across this local label before (they’ve been around since 2013), but you’ve definitely not see their stunning new range of tablecloths and tea towels.

The new collection from the dynamic duo behind the biz, Isabella and Jannah, is nothing short of extraordinary. Called Urban Jungle, it’s inspired by what it looks and feels like to live, love and entertain in Melbourne. And as a recent Melbournian myself (I moved down last year), I’m absolutely loving the story behind these new table linens and tea towels.

“We have specifically designed these wares to celebrate colour, quirk and nostalgia in the Australian home,” the girls tell me, adding that they believe entertaining should be both exciting and fun.

“For a short while each day, the dining table can become an uninterrupted oasis of serenity – and good times for family and friends”.

This new Urban Jungle range has been entirely designed and hand painted by Isabella and Jannah in their Fitzroy studio, utilising the skills of an amazing local digital printer who sourced supremely luxurious Belgian linens for print.

“Both the cloth and print quality are second to none,” the ladies tell me, going on to explain that the entire aim of Charlie and Fenton is to design wares that have a real personality and sense of play about them.

“We believe our new Urban Jungle collection has achieved just that!”.

You know what ladies? I do too! Not only do the different varieties bring a sense of visual punch to a dining room and kitchen, but I love that these have been created with a local market in mind. Better still, there are both sophisticated designs (like the marble pattern) and more playful ones (like snakes and ladders), so both kids and adults can find something to love about this release.

The ladies also called in the divine skills of photographer Cloe Smithett and stylist Tennille Joy to shoot the photos you see in this post, and I reckon every Creative involved in the process has nailed it!

The new Urban Jungle range is available on the Charlie and Fenton website right now! But if you want to get your hands on some of it sooner, see below for details of TLC’s exciting competition 🙂

TThe Ziggy tablecloth could be lines from my autobiography. It represents life’s zigs and zags, the twang of an acoustic guitar and hopefully the harmonious accord that brings people together at a table.

The Ziggy tablecloth’s like lines from my autobiography. My life ‘laid out on the table’, representing a path of zigs and zags. Reminds me of the twang of an acoustic guitar and hopefully the harmonious accord that is struck when people gather together around a table.

As a kid I always throught that table cloths were daggy things, maybe it was the styles mum had back in the day. Since having my own place I’ve discovered that joy of table cloth. The right pattern adds colour jazzing up my plain painted white rooms. And what a lifesafer they are with capturing crumbs and proventing damage to the table top. Table cloths are an easy way to style without spending huge amounts and you can easily keep up with the latest in design. Right now it seems to be feathers! So I am very drawn to the Feather and Cloth Table Cloth. It would be a great way to add a touch of nature to my home. Let’s hope that it doesn’t fly away 🙂

The feather and cloth table cloth is awesome and I love the tribal feather tea towel, they would be my pick. Recently my in laws sold their huge family home and downsized, my husband asked for their original old dining room table that they bought when they first moved into the house in 1975. We have sanded it and given it a bit of face lift, painted the legs white and stained and varnished the top… Feels like there are lots of family meals to be had at the table now with our own children. A nice table cloth would be amazing

I love the Blue Fern because I love how it has that embroidery touch but I do also love the colours of The Feather, nearly just as much.

The Tribal Feather Tea Towel is an absolute masterpiece. It would be criminal to use this work of art to dry dishes. If I owned this tea towel I would display it in my kitchen proudly and use to solely a decorative piece.

Marble Lux Calcutta is my favourite, mainly because it will match my kitchen bench tops made from white marble – it would be so complimentary to my open plan dining room and kitchen.

I love the Feather and Cloth Table Cloth even though I am Ornithophobic and usually don’t want anything to do with feathers, even designs. But I don’t know why this is just mesmerizing to me.This is just stunning.

Feather and cloth tablecloth!! I love it, I want it, I need it. We’ve recently extended our house and have a gorgeous new kitchen and dining space BUT it’s completely sterile and needs some colour and softness. Please please please, I’ll give it a good home, I won’t even let the kids eat at the table anymore

The marble, I think this could be my ticket to forgiveness for everything I’ve ever done. My wife will be so impressed. It might even make up for that time I took a nap when she went into labour… Maybe.

Love the Snakes and Ladders print – it’s modern but fun. Perfect for the family dining table. My kids would likely be too busy playing with it to sit still and eat but I’ve no doubt it would bring us all together.

The colours of the feather range of prints is how I found Charlie & Fenton in the first place! My 2 children and I have always been drawn to feathers and the magic they provide and evoke, so that would be my favorite. Our dining table is always the place for conversations, laughter and debrief on the days happenings – no technology allowed! Great work girls and love your designs 🙂

  • Love love love the Feather and Cloth design. It’s quirky, fun and colourful and I could see this being both used inside and outside. As a child growing up, we always had a tablecloth on the dining table (and it was my job to iron them!). Great to see them slowly coming back into fashion as a great way to freshen up a forgotten area. Thanks!
