  1. Thank you for this wonderful article. I have a question: I bought a bed frame that I instantly disliked once I saw it on my room (white boucle). What can I do to modify/soften the look?

    1. Hi Christine, layer it with some other neutrals in your bedding, throw and cushions. Don’t do all white.

  2. Hello,
I would really appreciate your help. I have a Tommy Bahama bed frame that is similar to Island Estate. it has a large curve at the top, has some rattan and a wee bit of leather. I couldn’t afford the matching nightstands at the time and then they went out of production. I have been stuck for a long time about what I should have for nightstands. I would like something transitional and with 2 or 3 large drawers for storage. I’ve had a lot of mismatched pieces and want the room to look more put together. I’ve been thinking of something with a linen look finish but not sure if I should go lighter or darker?
Would you please give an opinion on this? I’m also wondering about a dresser too?

    Thank you, Jan

    1. Hi Jan, sounds like you’re outside of Australia. I’m not familiar with a huge range of stores in America. However, maybe lean into the rattan or the leather rather than matching the wood. It will be cohesive without feeling too matchy-matchy.

  3. Hi! I found your article very interesting. I have a queen size off white tufted linen headboard. I am wanting a calm, tranquil room. I have been looking at navy blue dressers. .Purchased rustic brown mid century mod nightstands with gold handles but now am not liking them. The dresser is more traditional with gold handles, there is nightstands that match but feel it may be too matchy matchy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
