  1. Fab post as always, CC. Much nodding in agreement on my part: you nailed it. I even learned about a ‘famous’ person’s latest misstep. Hand me that dusted Kmart plate and do not smile for the camera, Ms Bartel.
I loved Ronnie and Georgia’s space – that starry, starry ceiling! – but completely missed the practicality of the white covers. So true! There will be loads of removing/spraying/washing/reapplying/repeat of those covers.
I actually loved the tiles in the M&M’s day spa, the blue is calming on its own merit. But you are right, it doesn’t fit with the feel of the other bathrooms.
Would I use a day spa as much as a media room? No. The basement space lends itself better to a family area. And I prefer my bathrooms with natural light. Apologies to M&M.
I too adore those caramel colour recliners in Tanya and Vito’s space, gorgeous version of a recliner, just not the fact they are armless in a cinema. Put them somewhere else and I’m sold.
And I’m with you on the harshness of judgment on the twins room. Not my pick but I can already hear the kids squealing with delight when they get a load of THEIR own cinema, complete with Iron Man. Don’t disregard the power of the poppet on Mummy and Daddy.

  2. Agree with you on the white lounges, my first thought was about food stains, my second thought was comfy chairs, darken rooms is a recipe for falling asleep and missing half of movie. Another thought, teenagers won’t use them they don’t leave their bedrooms. I actually get a shock when they come into our lounge in the evening. We sell huge lounges and parents are the only ones to use them.

  3. I also thought that they needed sinks or coffee makers. All could have been included behind closed doors quite easily. After a weekend of getting choc stains off our lounge totally agree with the comments

  4. I thought R&G should have won until I read your comment about the fabric. You’re right Chris. You need a surface that can easily be wiped down like leather or faux leather (or is that vegan leather these days?).

  5. I thought the people buying the Block houses got everything
I liked R&G room best, it was beautiful! (although I can understand an aversion to white sofas in this context). I thought M&Ms spa was a bit off colour-wise and quite small. (There should have been more room for a proper massage table imo).

  6. I thought all the contents – furniture, Chanel bags etc came with a Block House when you purchased it?
You mention a couple of times in this post that it does not. Could you please confirm? I love your Block recaps! Cheers.

  7. Hi Chris,
Totally agree with the comments re a fridge. So necessary!
I MAY be wrong but I’m pretty sure that all the furniture (and styling items) DO come with the house!
Maybe brushed nickel for the tapware in Mitch and Mark’s bathroom would look good? A bit more organic than shiny chrome?

  8. Ronnie and Georgia have a fridge in the cabinetry. I love their room but agree with the sofas not having any where to put your feet up, also there’s no side tables for snacks at the back.
