The fruity homewares and stationery craze refuses to go away - which is probably a good thing considering I adore the tropical colour story this aesthetic brings to a space. Although I did declare a short while ago that ceramic pineapples are officially over, I never threw all fruits under the bus - and I think they're divine in many respects.
OK, confession time: I've lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney for over five years and prior to last week I had not step foot inside Live This at The Spot in Randwick. I know, the shame! The good news though, is that now that I've discovered this local gem, it's going to be a long summer of homewares purchasing (how much do I have to buy before the shame goes away?).
I thought I was a fan of colour and extremely adverse to the use of beige until I picked up Happy Home by the founder of Danish homewares company RICE, Charlotte Hedeman Gueniau. It clearly states from the get-go that not all Danish design is about cool and calm interiors and I must admit, the whole ethos of the book being fun, colour and enjoyment speaks to me like the new Pope speaks to the man upstairs (and I sometimes talk back)!
