It’s a well-known fact that I don’t get very creative in the kitchen. I leave those culinary adventures to my partner Gavin, who in return generally lets me have my run of the house when it comes to decorating (apart from that time he put me on a cushion ban).
When it comes to baking or cocktails, though, you can bet your bottom dollar that I want in on the fun.
So when I got the chance to road test a SodaStream for the first time in my adult life, it was on like Donkey Kong. And yes, my first thought was which creative (alcoholic) drinks I could whip up using it. Don’t judge.

I remember being a kid and wanting a SodaStream so badly. Family friends of ours had one, and every time I went over their house I had to figure out a way to ask for one without seeming like it was the only reason I was there was (fact: it was the only reason I was there).
Fast forward a few decades and the new and improved SodaStream Play is here, which features an auto lift slider and snap lock mechanism. In short, it’s really easy to use. All you need to do is fill the bottle up to the indicted line, pop it on the SodaStream, pump the top of it a few times and press the flavour cap to release the mixer into the bottle.
Then, you simply add your desired flavour to your cocktail. As I’ll show you below.
Vanilla Berry Blast Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients:
– 7 to 10 whole raspberries
– 1 Lime
– SodaStream Naturals Fresh Lemon Concentrate
– 1 shot of Absolute Vanilla Vodka
– Ice cubes
Method:
– Make your Fresh Lemon drink first (instructions come with the SodaStream)
– Muddle the raspberries in the bottom of the glass
– Add lots of ice
– Add the shot of Vanilla Vodka
– Add SodaStream Fresh Lemon drink to the glass
– Mix and garnish with lime wedge
The beauty of this drink is that because you’re using the Naturals concentrate, it only has 36.8 calories per serve, so it’s a healthier alternative to a vodka lemonade or similar. It’s a refreshing cocktail that you don’t need to wait for Spring to enjoy either. Get colourful in your kitchen and enjoy a Winter bevvie – you deserve it!

I would love to create a cocktail using two of my favourites, passion fruit and vodka! Now all I need is a deck chair in a tropical paradise. A girl can dream right?!
Rosewater and pink grapefruit with bitters, Gin and a cardamom pod. YUMMO!
Sodastream Lemonade with Vodka, Strawberries, Lemon Juice and Basil – very refreshing!
I think I would have to go sugar free cranberry raspberry with a splash of vodka of course and some muddled fresh mint. aaaaaaaaaaah yes I can taste it now 🙂
My soda stream is getting a little old now and looks vintage compared to the new line- my cocktail of choice would be pink grapefruit caps , soda, fresh lime and pomegranate ….heaven !!!
Oops and grey goose vodka of course
I would use the piña colada flavour, add in some blue cacao and a dash of oj.
I would make a Passionfruit cocktail using the Naturals Fresh Lemon Caps , – Vodka, Lemon Cap, Fresh passionfruit, soda water
Definitely a mojito! But maybe shake it up with a little peach/apple mixed in too. So summery! Which is perfect for winter!
