Discovering new decor brands is one of my favourite pastimes. When it’s kids decor, it’s even better. Although I don’t have a little one of my own, it doesn’t stop me from experiencing extreme levels of cluckiness when I see awesome products for kids rooms.
The brand I’m showcasing for you on the blog today is kids room kit at its best, and something tells me that my nieces and nephews (I have 9 in total) are going to be enjoying some products from this brand very soon if I have anything to do with it. Better be nice to Uncle Chris, kids; Christmas is not far away!
Oh – and if you’re in the process of putting your baby nursery together, this post will help.
Meet Baud and Co Kids Beanbags
The one-woman show behind Baud and Co is Kris Baud. She’s a mum of two who created the brand back in 2014 when it was time for her to get back into the workforce. Keen to pursue a more creative career after years in a marketing role, she decided to trade in the nine to five and hasn’t looked back.
The reason she decided to start creating the unique kids beanbags that Baud and Co is known for, is because there were barely any like them on the market at the time.
“Definitely none with a pom at the top,” Kris explains, pointing out the gorgeous embellishment that makes her kids beanbags so special. “I think the novelty of having something a bit different appeals to many”.
Completely Customisable
Not only is it the dazzling pom poms atop these triangle beanbags that makes Baud and Co creations so special, but there’s the added handmade factor, and custom-made design options. Kris consults with many clients to create an individual design for their kids spaces (selecting preferred fabric to pom pom colour), resulting in a beanbag that’s truly one-of-a-kind.
“I get the best feedback from people,” Kris tells me. “Customers are incredibly kind to send me pics, and also writing thank you emails. It’s actually been one of the unexpected but delightful things about starting this business”.
Based in the Melbourne suburb of Bayside and supported by two machinists, Kris’ humble business is taking the world by storm. With a floor cushion on the way, which will round out the Baud and Co collection, Kris is excited for what’s to come next and is especially grateful for all of the local support she’s received.
“I’ve had lots of creatives, stylists, interior designers and other small business owners put Baud and Co out there into the world of interiors and for me, that’s been a real gift”.

yellow all the way, This design would brighten up the house and décor, has a real happy feeling, my new born would love to spend time on the bean bag reading a book, having her own special seat that is hers, the design looks like a small version of a couch great support for her back to, so mum can sit with her and have cuddle time, Babys love bright colours
My gorgeous niece Lucy steals her dad’s bean bag all the time to read. Having one of her own would be so awesome! She has just moved into a big bed and one of your amazing beanbags would make a great addition to her ‘new’ room. She has a brother or sister on the way so the beanbag would be used twice. She’s rascal but it would make her SO happy! All designs are fabulous; it would be hard to choose a favourite!!
It’s really amazing seeing Aussie creatives/interior-decor designers showcasing unique and fresh products in the local market. It gets me insanely excited to browse and shop knowing these products are available and within reach! You know how frustrating it is to see cute items, say on Etsy, then realising later on that they’re not available to buyers overseas or shipping cost is way, way too expensive! Well done Kris! I admire you having an idea and actually putting it out there!
Oh and btw, love your “Going Dotty.”
My favourite would have to be “BLUE DOTTY DOT” POMPOM BEANBAG. Mostly because it would go with the rest of my lounge room decor! Just because its kids furniture doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish and work with the rest of the furniture! :o)
The silver dot teen design would be eye popping in my 13 year olds hot pink and white bedroom. Plus it’s her birthday this month….perfect
My favourite Baud and Co beanbag design is “GOING DOTTY” because of it’s simple white background and soft pastel pink.
Love the oh my stripe. It will look fabulous in my kid’s room and also the lounge room.
My bookworm four-year old twins would definitely be Going Dotty with a Baud&Co bean bag. Perfect for cosy, lazy days snuggled together with a good book. Love your work Baud&Co!
I have been lusting after the Dot On design for my little girl. These beanbags are amazing! Well done Kris!
I adore the Scandi Grid bean bag. We are redecorating our tween and teen girls’ rooms, and it would look amazing against the dark grey carpet and white walls. Best of all, the girls would love it!
