The Neale Whitaker homewares collection has just landed and I’m so pumped to show you some of the best bits from the range in today’s post.
Neale has spoken to TLC Interiors many times over the years, and is a good friend of the blog, so it felt very right to showcase his glorious pieces in one dedicated spot for you.
Given that we’re all rather house-bound these days, now feels like the perfect time to embrace some stylish new decor drops. And the good news: these ones are a cinch to work in with your existing decor. That’s really what I love most about the Neale Whitaker N|W collection; that easy blend.
This post is produced in partnership with MyHouse Australia.
Neale’s Homewares Range is Intentionally Anti-Trend
Neale has discussed his dislike of trends with me on the blog before, which is why I admire his approach to this new range. The pieces are all rather contemporary in look and feel, but they’re not of-the-moment fads that’ll be here today, gone tomorrow. There’s a wonderful sense of timelessness at play.
“I’m not one for trends as I dislike the cookie-cutter approach they can dictate,” Neale told me in one of our past conversations. “My favourite trend is individuality. I love it when people mix it up and take a few risks.”
That philosophy has clearly spilled over into this new luxe homewares range, which features bed linen, throws, cushions, towels and decor items in natural fabrics like linen, Turkish and woven pure cottons.
“It’s a contemporary range but it’s not trend-driven,” Neale tells me. “The pieces are modern basics designed to work together but also with numerous other styles.”
Luxury for Less is at the Forefront Here
Not only is the N|W Collection packed with homewares you can easily mix and match with your current decor, but you get them in your home without the hefty spend, which you know is at the forefront of everything we do here at TLC Interiors.
“My collection offers the opportunity to create an individual look without the big price tag,” Neale explains. “It comprises designs and colours that can be layered or used individually to create your look”.
Neale tells me that the idea behind the range is a relaxed take on luxury and I definitely get that sense when I see the pieces. There’s a sophistication to the collection but it’s rather effortless in its approach.
I really appreciate the luxe-for-less mentality here. With pieces starting from just $14.95 I love that even the most budget-conscious decorating junkies can have a bit of My Whitaker in their homes.
Colours and Textures Inspired by the Australian Landscape
The colour palette of this range is definitely worth talking about. Soft and soothing, there’s an obvious nod to the local landscape at play. There are loads of neutrals, which we love, but they’re punctuated with olive greens, dusty blushes, clay tones and moody charcoals.
It’s a palette that’s really easy to work with, so you won’t be stuck trying to figure out how to layer them into your existing scheme. They’re also not in one distinct style, so they work regardless of what part of the country you’re in or what style you gravitate towards.
“I’m drawn to our unique Australian light and landscape,” Neale says. “That’s why I’ve chosen to work with natural, breathable fibres in a palette that includes colours like Wattleseed, Desert, Granite, Pink Salt, Oyster and Burrow. The collection is as perfect for city living as it is for the country or the coast!”
Best Bits from the Neale Whitaker N|W Collection
The Neale Whitaker N|W Collection is brimming with homewares for every pocket of your home, but some of the best bits that have caught my eye are below:
Bed Linen
I love that you can mix and match these pieces on top of your bed to create your own curated look. Pieces are priced separately so you can make your magic. Start the style story with the Braemar Quilt Cover (above). It comes in loads of soothing colourways.
Cushions and Throws
Build up the look of your bed or sofa with striking soft furnishings like the Illaroo Tufted Cushion (it comes in two gorgeous tones) and make sure you layer in a tactile linen throw. My fave colour is the Burrow – so earthy!
Towels
If you’re not matching your towels to your bedding, the style story is only half told! The bath towels from the Neale Whitaker N|W Collection are soft to the touch but striking to the eye. My go-to is the granite/oyster stripe, but there are numerous options on offer.
Decor
Last but not least, the decorative touches. Neale has named the candles after his beloved dogs (so adorable), but that’s just the start of the homewares goodness. Make sure you grab some of the Hemisphere Vases as well. There’s two sizes available and they look great side-by-side.
I also love that Neale has included a lamp in the range, given that he’s got so many in the home he shares with his partner David on the NSW South Coast.
“To me lighting is the single most important factor in creating ambience and mood in a room,” Neale told me in a recent interview. “I guess it also comes from growing up and living in the UK where you can’t rely on natural light as you can in Australia. Manipulating light to create warmth and comfort was essential for about eight months of every year.”
