I won’t lie; I get through a typical day with about four or five coffees. It’s my vice and I imagine it’s going to stay that way for a while to come (who in their right mind gives up coffee?). When I got the chance to sample a new coffee machine from Breville, it was like all my Christmases had come at once – and I haven’t looked back.
Before I even get into the finer details about the Nespresso Breville Inissia, I must let you know that the Lime Yellow version is limited edition, so if you’re a colour lover like me you need to move quickly to secure this hue. My kitchen was probably the last remaining nook of the house to get a colour makeover, so this appliance was both useful and visually pleasing (which is how all gadgets and gizmos should be, right?).
I’m probably the worst person ever when it comes to technology. I’m always calling on my partner Gavin to rescue me when a message pops up on the computer. With that in mind, any coffee machine that required more than a few button presses was going to be too-hard-basket in my book. I don’t like to work for my coffee, let alone at 7am.
I’m delighted to report that this lightweight and slimline bad boy only requires you to select your coffee pod depending on how strong you like your brew, pop it in the machine and hit a button (short or tall coffee options). It’s a bit whiz-bang in terms of speed and ease, so the coffee comes out quick and the milk frother is a dream to use. It only takes 25 seconds to heat up too – so it’s a lot quicker than a kettle.
We made a batch of muffins up yesterday and had a little afternoon coffee sesh at TLC HQ. Gavin made the muffins and I prepared the coffees (I got the easy part in that deal for sure) and I admired my recent handiwork in the living room. I moved it around again on Friday afternoon and Gavin once again rolled with the punches and accepted the fact that every room in the house is going to be moved around endlessly until I leave the Earth!
The Nespresso Inissia also comes in Ruby Red and White if Lime Green isn’t your preferred colour for the kitchen, and it retails at $249.
