  1. Hi,
Love your blogs. We have an open dining and living space of 6.6*5.9 metres from the island bench which are in line with the kitchen bench. I wanted to have long windows on one side being North on that side. On the other side I have a long wall starting from island bench stretching towards the end of the living room with an entrance door at the corner end of living room. How much space should I leave for a TV cabinet? On which wall should I have the TV cabinet? Kindly advise.

  2. Hello, we’re just starting to design our open living space and would love some advice. We have a large dark brown leather corner sofa that we love, and we want to create the indoor/outdoor feel with the same flooring inside and out. But do light grey tiles (as that’s what mostly seems available inside and out) go with a brown leather sofa?? How would it be styled?

  3. What do you think about anchoring the dining room with a rug and leaving the living room bare? I have beautiful hardwood floors and the living room rug would cover most of the space – since I live in a condo apartment.

  4. Great article with some practical tips – thank you! We have a fairly large open plan living / dining area, with a rug to define the living area. Problem is, there’s a big black ceiling fan slap bang in the middle of the ceiling between the living and dining zone. (Even worse – we put it there! Years ago.) Do you think we should move it to the centre of the living zone, and then do pendant over living room? Or is it acceptable to have a fan right in the middle of an open plan zone?
