  1. Hi Chris looks great really loving the whole look just wondering where did you get the lounge I’m after something similar and really like the colour of it

    1. Thanks Vicki. Glad you’re loving it. The sofa is gorgeous huh? It’s the Shona sofa from my trade supplier Molmic: https://www.molmic.com.au/product/modular/shona-3/ (they don’t sell to the public though).

    1. Thanks so much Charleen! Aren’t the jars gorgeous? I got them from a divine homewares store in Moonee Ponds here in Melbourne: https://dartagnan.com.au/

  2. Simply stunning, you have done a knockout as usual. What a boring palette you walked into.
You haven’t put any pics of your new home up yet. Can’t wait.

    1. Thanks Jan. The clients are anything but boring, but didn’t want to make the wrong decisions, which is where I came in to help. Hopefully get some pics of my home up in the next couple of months. Pretty busy with work and haven’t had much time to get my own place designed.

  3. Hello Chris,

I agree with all of the above comments.
The transformation is stunning – you are one clever guy.

Chris I have an antique Hall Stand ( Dark Wood ) that i have had more several years – don’t really want to get rid of it but am at a loss at how to style it Hamptons. The flat surface is only approx 1 metre wide
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Many Thanks Chris

    1. Thanks very much!

It depends how attached you are to it in its current dark wood state. You could consider painting it white, or having it sanded back and see what the raw timber looks like? If it’s a light colour timber with not too much red in it, a coat of clear furniture oil to seal it might bring it close enough to the Hamptons vibe. Depends on the shape of the piece too. Good luck.

  4. Loving the makeover.
We are in the process of starting to build a hamptons style home.
Trouble is we have some very good quality timber furniture that we love, eg an Australian made hardwood sleigh bed that cost an arm and a leg…can l incorporate stained furniture into what is usually a white furniture zone?
Not aiming for a beachy hamptons but more of a country style.
    Jo.

    1. Hey Jo, thanks for the kind words.

You might want to take the redesign into a provincial direction. Take a look at another one of my projects for inspiration: https://www.tlcinteriors.com.au/inside-homes/modern-provincial-interior-design/

  5. Absolutely Beautiful, you would never think it was the same house. So glad I found your Interiors Web Site last year, so many inspiring ideas. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to seeing your next project.

  6. Hi Chris. I love the makeover…just beautiful! My husband and I are building a Hamptons inspired home in Melbourne and I often turn to your blog for inspiration…thank you! I was wondering where the dining chairs & table, white side tables and coffee table were sourced from. Thanks so much for helping us find inspiration for our own home!
