I’ve gotta admit, I’m never short on Hamptons living room ideas. That’s because a lot of my clients are gravitating toward this style for their homes – and in living spaces especially. So it’s a look that’s always on my radar.
There are so many ways to rock this style and it’s a bit of a choose-your-own-adventure situation. That’s why I love it so much; the theme is so versatile.
You can go classic navy and white Hamptons, more of a rustic coastal Hamptons, or a modern take with masculine elements like metallics included. You can even mix all of the different incarnations together to create a melting pot of Hamptons style that feels uniquely yours.
As you can see from the images in this post, there’s a variety of ways to pop Hamptons vibes into your living room. But the common thread would be the blue and white colour palette, a sense of relaxed sophistication, and a bright foundation.
Lots of natural light flooding into the room is always a good start too, and from there you can work with the crisp shell and layer in lots of textures. That’s another thing a Hamptons living room has; layers. It’s very inviting and really warm, but it doesn’t feel cluttered. Everything serves a purpose and it’s nice if you can find some older pieces that tell a story.
Let’s put the Hamptons Living Room Ideas into Practice!
Now, if you want to get a sense of how to put together a contemporary Hamptons vibe across your entire home, I covered that off in this post. And I totally recommend you open it up and give it a look once you’re done with this article. Because the ideas there are quite unique. It’s not classic Hamptons, but a really interesting revival that feels quite moody.
I don’t want to repeat that content here, so I’ll focus on showing you some pieces you could pop into your living room exclusively. If you want to inject some Hamptons vibes into your kitchen, check this post out. And if you wanna give your bathroom a Hamptons overhaul, this post has you covered.
The good news is that there’s a lot of smaller decorative elements included below. You don’t need to take out a personal loan and completely re-do your room with new furniture. Unless you want to (then call me). If you are looking for larger Hamptons furniture pieces, I tell you the best places to get them here.
But if you want a smaller style update, you’ve come to the right place. The mood board below will give you all the links you need to shop each piece.
So if your space currently features white, grey, brown, beige or even black tones, you can lay these decor gems over the top and rock a few Hamptons living room ideas of your own at home.
Drop me a comment further down if you have any questions. And happy decorating!

Love the color palette and furniture choices in this post! The Hamptons style is always so elegant and sophisticated, and these ideas are perfect for creating a beautiful and inviting living room. The addition of the coastal accents and soft lighting really bring the whole space together. Definitely saving some of these ideas for my own living room makeover!

I just wanted to know where is the round magry in the bedroom from I just love it
Hi
I’m in New Zealand and have a south/west facing room it’s not dark but not brilliant sun light,
I’m stuck choosing the colours of my walls. I’m drawn to the hamptons look but worry that all white walls will look cold in the room as I don’t have any art work.
I was thinking of using a resene colour called half or quarter delta which is a grey/blue with green undertones, I would like to get a tan leather sofa it doesn’t have to be tan but I would like leather as this will be more hard wearing . Am I going in completely the wrong direction,
I’m looking for a style that restful and a treat for your eyes. The basic thing I have at the moment are mid brown bamboo floors, and a wooden bureau with shuttered style doors use as a tv cabinet,
Hope you can point me in the right direction and get started,
Regards
Sharon.

Hi Hollie, Temple & Webster stock something similar. Otherwise google search provincial and Hamptons coffee tables, you should be able to find something.
