  1. Can you imagine a show like the Block with judges Laurence, Chris and Neal for a season? WOW dynamic Sunday nights!!!

What a carry on Harry is. I’m so glad his daughter is so patient and goes along to appease him, i would be tripping him up at the top step!!
I would much rather his original front door to a reproduced door.
George and Sarah’s rooms were so thought out last week, you don’t need kids to do a kids room. I would have picked Luke and Jasmine’s 2nd
    Harry and Tash’s 3rd.

  2. Aside from the tedium of mediocrity, annoying voices announcing ’15 minutes later’ and constant scene repeats of non-events, it’s the artificially high scores that bother me. It’s like the producers know they have to sell these houses for a great price at the end and therefore the judges are made to give top scores to justify that price. Can you image Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen giving any of these rooms more than a 5 or 6?

  3. I totally agree with all that you said Chris. I used to be a big fan of The Block but don’t watch anymore & from what I’ve seen of this season I wont be watching ever again! I think they need a new city, new judges (some fresh outlooks & faces!) & it needs to be more about design than furnishing a room, lets face it people will be buying the house not the furniture! Personally I’d be more interested in the renovations, use of space & how much it all costs so that the viewers can learn something from the show about renovating! I also agree with Penelope Herbert let them run a bit free with design & reduce some of the pressure & I’m sure we would see some awesome results.

  4. Boring rooms week after week. Please ban white walls and shopping at large, generic stores. Anyone can get the sales people to put together exactly these rooms. Encourage the contestants to be adventurous rather than same old same as.

  5. I’m finding the rooms this year particularly bland. As you say, Chris, home styling 101. I don’t know if it’s because the producers have forced the contestants to try and follow the era of the home (yet this COULD have spectacular results). Or if it’s because there is SOOOOOO little time to design a space properly and choose the right elements. Added to that, I gather everyone has to use sponsor products. I’m not sure where this begins and ends. I’m an interior designer who is SWAMPED with work and I have a waiting list. I’d be cheating my clients if I just threw rooms together in a short time-frame simply to get thru all the work. There are so many AWESOME options, let contestants run free with whatever they want and don’t put so much pressure on them. The results will be so much better.
