  1. I am not a designer but do love design and I think all of your comments this week were spot on… and hilarious! The Oompa Loompa comment had me laughing out loud (been there!!) The real wood fire in that little room, well, I never!
Thanks for always calling it as you see it and being more entertaining than the block!

  2. Imagine you starkers in the robe and the double doors swing open and the kids can see your crack!

    Best line ever.

  3. I agree with your rating of the rooms. I dislike fireplaces in the bedrooms so the boys win there. A and A’s room was horrid. I’m not a francofile. I absolutely despise brown, orange and all those deep dark warm colours. Can’t wait for cool cours to be fashionable once more. For me it was the boys for the win – just need to clear out the library.

  4. A real working fire place in the bedroom! They’ll light it up once, hate the mess and never again. Can’t turn it off when you go to bed and fry all night. What’s will all the fireplaces anyway – aren’t they all having some wizz bang underfloor heating and cooling system? Don’t get me started about all the ugly trinkets lying around in all these rooms – but like you said as least you can chuck it out – harder to change the awful light fittings. On a positive note, I loved the bed in Sarah-Jane and Tom’s room and I find her quite hilarious.

    1. Love Sarah-Jane. I thought the same about the fire place. Who wants to be dealing with timber and coal in the bedroom?! I immediately thought that any timber brought from outside might have a critter or two that you don’t want to find on your wall later in the night. #bigcountryspider

  5. I agree with all your commentsvexcept one. The bed cover set in the winning room reminds me of an old orange check blanket I still have from the 70s! Suppose it’s country, looks like a horse blanket. And that green is just awful

  6. I think you are spot on! Do I want to go to my bedroom and light a fire to warm the room, then tend to it all night and get up in the morning and clean it …..hell no! Not luxe at all! The room was already to small for a master bedroom! Definitely not a 10!
None of the rooms were had the absolute wow factor for!

  7. Worst master suits I’ve ever seen, who cares if they can pick out good linen all the straka and layouts were crap and not Practical… how hard can it be to get country style right there is just so much you can do… I’m totally sick of the shit green from Sarah Jane it looks like out door paint to me and I can’t get over the crap window curtains… thanks for the vent I’m no designer but have any of these guys actually looked outside at the magical space around them, not doing it justice…

  8. Whish you were a judge, you say it like it is. Must agree with you regarding Rachel and Ryan’s bedroom , with one or 2 tweaks pointed out by you it is for sure a winning bedroom.
Where to start with Sarah – Jane and Tom main bedroom it made me want to grab a cheap box wine, nothing in the space works from the size ,colors, fireplace, I can go on and on. I liked the bed though. The judges comments made me wander what they are smoking, it must be good.
However I do like Sharon and Ankur’s room it got stunning bones and lovely period details, the door is just out of this world. They just needs to get rid of the cheap looking pendants , wall scones and Vega’s like headboard. Unlike Sarah – Jane and Tom’s bedroom one can easily change the art work and furniture if it is not your style.
Entering a walk in robe before you enter the bedroom …. I am simply lost for words and not in a good way.
Well that is enough from me, looking forward to your next article it is on the money.

  9. I was having flashback moments with Sharon and Ankors lighting choices, thinking “I’ve seen these before….. a long time ago…. But where?” Thank you for clarifying, Copperart is where they were at they just needed to add a floral glass and brass touch lamp.

  10. Well that’s your opinion, but I think Sharon and Ankur did a fabulous job on their room, Sarah-Jane and Tom’s room deserved to win, Rachel and Ryans was blah in my opinion
