  1. Absolutely love the look of Steph and Gian’s kitchen but I agree, it’s just not enough storage in the front section. They could have just one entry to the butlers, take the cabinetry to the wall and swap the cooktop and sink. Problem solved!

  2. The black lights destroyed the kitchen. I would have taken the stone up to the ceiling, an offset black shelf with lighting underneath. A simple bowl on one side of the shelf and boom “warm minimalism”.

  3. Agree that Steph could’ve had more storage in kitchen. It’s a beautiful space but no one would want to run back and forth to fetch dishes etc when preparing dinner for maybe 6. It’s OK if only 2 people but I have some problem and there’s no way I can afford to change it. Also, find the island a tad small. When you’re cooking, 1 tends to have all prep done and either on chopping board or bowls. If there is domeone sitting on other side of island they’ll possibly be sitting on corner so that you have prepared space. I wouldn’t like to turn around to get things off bench behind me

  4. Steph excelled….should have been first place….functionality is over stated on this show….I would gladly buy this property due to the kitchen…thank you Steph….

  5. I do agree on most of your observations. The orange appliances – yuck! The curves in Lesley and Kyle’s kitchen – lovely. But two things I disagree with. I can’t come at that stone benchtop of Kristy and Brett’s. I hate it times ten. The stainless steel appliances do look awful with the white cabinets, but also with the brown? benchtop. And second. Surely the other four Spice are way more interesting than Victoria! Like Geri…. 🙂

  6. Another awesome review. For the first time I have to disagree with the critique on Steph and Gian. Whilst I am anti butler’s pantry unless it comes with a butler and all for the appliance cupboard there is enough space and storage in the actual kitchen area for it to be functional. The cooktop in the island may be polarising however it works well with the Japandi theme and the sconces for me reference Japanese hats. I think Steph has nailed it. Kyle and Leslie’s planning decisions are the sword on which they are skewered every week, it’s a shame because they definitely have a beautiful aesthetic. I love the girls and I enjoy watching them on the show, taste wise And as for the “nasty” people on the show (that’s how they are are portrayed, perhaps they are nice IRL? who cares?) fatal space planning for one house and challenging for the other house. Lastly, whilst a big red slab of marble may be divine to many, I couldn’t live with it in a kitchen, it’s just too loud, I’d feel hungry and exhausted in this space. Love your work TLC Interiors!

  7. White handles, no. Orange in a kitchen, not since my mum’s 1970’s kitchen with the lime green cabinets. I did like the stone benchtops. Not sure about the rest. Too much design over function. I must be spoilt, last years Block kitchens were so much better.
