I make no secret of the fact that I have a major crush on Shaynna Blaze. I'm just waiting for Channel 9 to make me the fourth judge on The Block and then our fates are sealed.

When it comes to colour palettes for spring, there are five hot-to-trot new hues you need to get on board with ASAP. And we're not talking neutrals for the most part, either (been there, done that!).It's time to up the ante and get adventurous with vibrant paint colours as 2015 starts to draw to a close. These hues are set to be on trend for a while, too, so crack out a brush and splash a bit of drama about at home.

The biggest mistake people make in their homes when it comes to paint is not checking the colour on a larger scale in a room, says Dulux Creative Consultant Bree Leech.

"I have had people explain to me they selected a neutral grey in the store and when they painted it at home it looked like it was green or blue," she explains. "Of course, the colour is still the same but it can appear quite differently under warm light such as halogens, compared to the harsh fluorescents or even daylight in the paint store".
