  1. Yep! Can relate to all of these! I live , breathe and sleep decor/ interior design !!! My house ( still not finished yet) is an endless work in progress! Another one is an obsession with online window shopping!! A great day out for me is a trip to IKEA or Bundall/southport ….endless , amazing decor stores!!! Just to window shop!!!

    1. I am the same Sharyn. I love just going to stores to look. Sometimes when they are merchandised really nicely I do get a bit overwhelmed and short of breath haha. Is this a problem? I don’t think so!

  2. This is me down to a tee! My boyfriend didn’t understand why I got so upset when he actually USED my Laura Ashley tea towls to dry the dishes. They were hanging up so prettily – how could he not see they were just for show?! Crazy man!

    1. haha oh Suzy, you make me laugh! I can’t say I have gone that far with tea towels, but i SHOULD! Thank you for this idea 😛

  3. Chris I totally agree with Number 1.. I may leave a store empty handed..BUT always filled with a ton of inspiration and money in my Wallet*** jennxx

    1. I know right! I spent 5 hours in IKEA once and came out with nothing, but I was filled with inspiration so I feel that it was completely OK.

  4. Hi Chris. You’ve really brightened up my afternoon. So hilarious, but oh so true! Blown away last week when my hubby said he liked the new Aura cushions I’d bought. I’m having a new outdoor covered area built as we speak, but have decided I don’t like the flat ceiling (feels oppressive) trying to decide how to rake it. The structure is now built minus the roofing material, which will be colour bond.I can almost see the dollar signs in the builders eyes. However, he did put me onto a website I’d never heard of called Houzz. Wish me luck…

    1. Oh, yes, I’m familiar with Houzz Yvonne – it’s a bit like Pinterest in terms of the addictive nature. Once you’re in it, it’s hard to get out lol. I hope the outdoor area goes well. I wanna see photos once it’s done (I love a before and after). And honestly, if more hubbies complemented decor they’d be in for treats around the clock haha 😉

  5. oh dear… I think i’m an addict…. Lol! #2 is hilarious – something I didn’t realise I felt! A very confronting article!!

    1. Do you mean confronting or comforting, Vanessa lol? Let’s go with comforting; power in numbers 🙂 You’re not alone!

  6. Absolutely agree! Replacing home décor with the seasons (or just when the mood strikes) is our way. Changing cushions and throws, coordinated home décor and then of course storing it away when we buy new ones! Great article – very true.

    1. Where does one store all of the excess though WAM lol? That’s a whole post just waiting to happen, because I’m running out of room :/

      1. Well Chris..You do what I have done in the new house we are building* You build a Store Room, with floor to ceiling shelving for all the things you just don’t want or need to see, BUT you want to keep. Jenn xx

          1. Every home should have one Chris…it’s about time Building Companies started including them into all homes..it wasn’t hard to find the space on our plans? jennxx

    1. haha thanks A-M! I am sure there are more that I’ve totally forgotten about. PS – when and how can I showcase your work on the blog!?

  7. HA hilarious – definitely feel the pain when a scented candle smells like NOTHING! and yes, I do mentally re-arrange furniture when visiting other people but only ever offer advice if asked! OH! and I don’t do the vouchers, but I am very SPECIFIC in what I want when people ask about gifts to give me (it’s usually decor, aaaand usually has to be ordered in), otherwise I wouldn’t want them to waste their hard earned cash! it’s the polite thing to do 😉

    1. haha you are much more trusting with your friends and family than I am Crystal. And the only thing worse than the scented candle not smelling at all is the ones that are so powerful that you could slice the air with a knife and eat it on crackers!

  8. How about you are constantly re-arranging things! My husband says he thinks he’s woken up in a different house sometimes!

    1. omg yes Karen – how could I forget that one? Both my living room and office change back and forth in layout about every three months. My partner walks in and just laughs now. He knows my crazy ways!
