Every year around this time, growing up, my mum would always ask me what I wanted for Christmas. And every year, without fail, I’d always ask for a new beach towel.
The most hilarious thing about this request is that we didn’t even live near the beach.
In fact, I don’t even like the beach that much (give me the bustle of the city any day). We did have a pool though, and I loved nothing more than laying my new beach towel down every Christmas beside it and soaking up the sun (with this skin, the soak turned into a burn without about 10 minutes).
You can imagine my delight, then, when I cast my peepers on the new range of AURA Home beach towels, which have just landed in-store and online. They’re the perfect colour burst for Christmas 2015 and I can’t get enough of them.
What I love about these AURA Home beach towels is that they’re incredibly on-trend. One of the big things in decor this year has been the introduction of embellishments. The fringe detailing on these towels plays into our desire to have pieces in our homes that are more textural and tactile.
The idea here is that it counteracts all of the sleek gadgets in our spaces of late, but truth be told, I just adore a tassel.
Each towel is made from cotton and velour and each one is as bright and bubbly as the next. Though for those of you who like a more subdued moment on the beach (or poolside) there are some monochromatic options with less visual punch.
The towels measure 100 x 180cm in size and retail for $69.95. Bargain!

Love, love, love the Check Beach Towel Multi, with Aura signature bold colours & gender neutral too. I’ll be beachside this summer enjoying my new Aura towel.
I have 4 small children who smear my floors with vegemite, crayons & leftover s’mores so please don’t think it’s a crazy joke – the corner stripe beach towel in smoke gets my vote.
