Why You’ll go Bonkers for Sparkk Cushions (and go in the draw to win one, too).

I first discovered Sparkk cushions when I featured them in my shoot for Inside Out’s Search for a Stylist comp last month. Days after the styling took place, I couldn’t help but stare longingly out the window like they do in a daytime soap, thinking about the shapes and colours present in these stellar soft furnishings.

I put down my goblet of brandy and contacted this local team to discover more about their wondrous designs – and found out that they have an abundant collection you’re going to want to get a look in on!

When I asked one part of the team, Natasha Budinski, why Sparkk recently went from selling strictly to trade clients to offering their range to the public too, she admits it was for a few different reasons.

“It was time to offer everyone out there a chance to get a little Sparkk in their lives,” she tells me. “Honestly, I think it was mostly pressure from our very supportive friends and family wanting their own cushions that did it!”.

The business is three years old now and has made a name for itself as a go-to destination for cushions carrying bright and bold prints. Some popular ones include the Flamingo, Louis Petite, Great Shalimar and Natasha’s fave – the Baudinii Rizz (pictured below left).

“The Cockatoo really aligns with our all-Aussie setup and I love the splashes of purple and aegean. The cushion is a great talking point in my home”.

The job of whittling down the designs and choosing what to offer to customers is no easy feat, but Natasha tells me it all comes down to offering variety to their customers.

“Whether you are after blues, neutrals or brights, we think there is a cushion to suit every style, season and interior”.

Using the cushions in my own shoot really did sell me on how glorious they are. Natasha tells me that she loved seeing them in the Search for a Style comp because the Sparkk team are all about supporting emerging Aussie talent.

“To be a part of the Search for a Stylist shoot was a proud moment,” she says. “We love how TLC used Sparkk’s Flamingo and Harcourt cushions in your shoot”.

Thanks for sharing – I’ve been wondering where you got the divine flamingo print! Just adore all the cushions – my favourites are the bird prints. My absolute favourite is the Herons in original.

  • Emily

Wow!! What an amazing range of cushions!! I love so many of them, it was soooo hard to choose just one! I would have to say V&A – Dusk because I have a soft spot for little birds.

  • sharyn w

very hard choice to pick one – but if i have to i would say the casso carnival – as it is bright and funky and would seriously brighten up my dull and dreary loungeroom 🙂

  • Soooooo hard to pick – but I’ll go with the Black Cockatoo print. Fingers crossed. 🙂

  • Stephanie Cianciosi

The cushions are amazing but I’d have to go with the Casso – Dash… the pastel colours will match perfect with my new grey bedding and mint country road pillows. 🙂 xx

  • Maureen

How to choose just one?? I love the flamingo and baudinii rizz, both would complement my great shalimar cushions so well!

  • Sarah Dzelilovic

Oh. My. Goodness! I love most of the cushions! My favourites however are the entire range of Casso, the feather – carnivale, but my all time favourite is the Flamingo – original!

You can never under cushion in my books – I love the Great Shalimar – Steam cushion – loving palm prints at the moment – a touch of summer on a winters day

  • Aja

Casso – Dash wins my heart. I’m trying to integrate a bit of pastel into our home at the moment as I am loving this trend and the bold geometric pattern is perfect

  • billyjean

we are made for flamingos in this house, I have two cheeky little ones who entertain me every day. Would adore the flamingo cushion to adorn our couch!

  • Krishanie

The graphic prints are a great base cushion but the standout for me is definitely the Baudinii – Rizz! It’s a gorgeous statement cushion and it’s intricate detail really showcases the beauty of these birds as a piece of artwork themself

  • Gina

Tough choice, but the Rosea – Original just brings a smile to my face, beautiful print, I look it at and it feel like spring/summer, birds tweeting, simply beautiful. x

  • I love the Casso in black – because it’s such a funky geometric design but the black gives it a really classical, elegant edge.

  • Alicia

Wow ! Awesome designs ! Thanks for the introduction to Sparkk !

  • Anita E

Baudinii Night is beautiful I love the use of Australian icons without losing their beauty.

  • I could really use most of them! But my favourite would have to be the Black Cockatoos… Baudinii – Rizz. And the Black & Pebble Josephine. I’m a sucker for a hint of art deco!

  • Elysia

Ohhh they all so awesome !!! But seriously who doesn’t love a geometric pattern the Chrysler Tar Alt is the way to go slick and sexy black never will go out 🙂

  • Adele Smith

Aatma Stripe – Festival as it’s a beautiful blend of colours, adding warmth and quietly earning the centre of attention.

  • Madeline Batch

There is something here for everyone! Love the Sparkk style! Has to be the Great Shalimar-steam for me as I’m partial to a bit of tropical plantation style!

  • Jodie

What’s that- Great Shalima? You want to jump on my couch?? Because it’s the one and only couch for you and you would love to be amongst my Southern American/ Jamaican themed room with lemon and tangerine colours- I don’t blame you- come to me you sweet thing you!!!!:):):)

Loving the cushion crosses heirloom, so many stunning cushions I found it hard to pick just one. Beautiful style & designs!

  • Genevieve Johnston

This is a hard decision! I love all of the spark cushions, but I keep getting drawn back to the Flamingo – Original. This is a gorgeous statement cushion that instantly provides class and would look lovely paired with my fluffy white cushion.

  • catrinam

Thanks for sharing the beautiful Sparkk collection, incredibly tough to pick a favourite!! I’d choose the Feather Carnivale which would be right at home in my bedroom, providing the perfect touch of colour.
