  1. Please help! I inherited a Cushman Cherry table from my mom and don’t know what to do with chairs? The table also extends on both side. I have pictures of the table I wish I could have posted it to show you. Cushman was made in Vermont.

  2. Hi! I was considering to buy a dk3 ten table in oiled oak. I want to achieve a modern look for my dining room but because my floor is dark gray ( almost black) I wanted to warm up a bit the room with wood. I do like the ch24 chairs in terracotta (which now are not an option anymore because of delivery time) which color chairs would you go for and would you pair it with a natural wood ch24 maybe lighter or darker in wood color? Thanks for your help. Angela

  3. Hey Chris,
Amazing article! I am looking at buying a white marble table top with black legs. I gave dark brown curtains in my dining area windows and – charcoal colour flooring. I have walnut colour cabinetry in my house. I am confused what colour dinning chair I should keep. I like leather better than fabric (less maintenance). I have a charcoal lounge in the family area next to dining. Would a grey leather chair with black legs look better or a tan leather chaur with black legs? Appreciate your advice.

  4. Hi Chris,
Loved the article and I’m currently in a pickle lol I’m so confused on what chairs to match with a glass dining chair with silverware hardware legs. I have light grey hard wood flooring. I was attempting to go matchy matchy until I stumbled up on your article. I would love some insight on what direction to go.

    1. Hey Tee. I’m thinking a black chair would work, a fabric not a leather. Silver hardware legs can be quite cold visually, so you want to warm up the space a bit and a fabric will help you do that. I’d make sure it has either silver or black legs. Hope that helps.

  5. Hello,

Can you advise what kind of chairs would look good on a rustic dining table with brass legs?

    Thanks

  6. HI Chris, Hope you are well n really hoping you can advise me as I am really confused of which dining chairs that really suit to my dining table. I purchased dining table from Nick Scali called ‘Carlina’ with timber looks leg and marble top with size180 x 100 x 75 cm (W x D x H) for 4-6 people.
I like dining chairs with buttoned but not sure which other type of dining chairs looks nice or fit in.
Since the dining table has timber colour leg, does this mean dining chairs’s leg need to be in same colour look or can I go with black legs colour ?
Behind my dining table is a curtain with soft grey looks, I m thinking to get black velvet or dark grey colour with oak timber legs? which hardly I can find as mostly they matched dark grey colour with black timber leg?

    1. Hi Henny,

Matching is a safe bet (Nick Scali have some options in the same wood tone) if you’re unsure how to mix and match.

  7. hi! What about a lighter Walnut colored table with chairs that are gray upholstered but have dark walnut legs? Is that variation enough? Can you mix wood colors with each other? I really appreciate the advice!

  8. What dining chairs do you suggest for a acacia rectangular table. My husband is a big tall man of 260 pounds.
Any suggestions of a strong sturdy chair and one that’s easy to sit down and get up from. We’re both senior citizens.

  9. Hi, I have a beautiful light oak rectangle dining table and am looking for new chairs. The only chairs I like seem to have black legs. I have just painted the kitchen white (I have wooden kitchen cupboard doors) I am going for a more monochrome colour scheme so black , white, grey and wood will be my colour scheme , with lots of plants. My question is will black legs on the chairs look ok with the wooden table. ( the chair seats are faux leather with black legs) my original chairs are a country cottage all wood chairs and I have padded cushions on them and they are too old fashioned so I’m trying to modernise the whole kitchen .Thank you
