It was raining the day the latest snaps from the Cotton On + Mark Tuckey homewares range hit my inbox. And for a lover of cold Autumn weather, which I most certainly am, it was a truly magical moment. Let’s take a look at the best bits from the new collection.
Have I told you how utterly obsessed with Autumn I am? Seriously, if I have to endure one more hot Melbourne day I might pack up and move to Antarctica. As a lover of all things ‘fall’, as our friends in the US call it, I am hanging out for leaf crunching, scarf wearing, tea drinking and perhaps a little red wine drinking ;). It’s been a seriously hot summer down here in Victoria and I cannot wait for the weather to turn.
These images from the new Cotton On + Mark Tuckey homewares range are further adding to my longing for Autumn. The mood in each of these shots is so scrumply; a word I made up to describe the feeling of a cool day where you’re in your PJs, under a throw on the couch, with a cat on your lap, drinking a warm brew and binge-watching The Great Interior Design Challenge (are you into this show?).
“The palette is soft and versatile with more naturals, charcoals and whites as a foundation for our signature pops of colour – to ensure the pieces remain fresh and on-trend,” said Mark Tuckey Creative Director, Louella Tuckey, in a press release that went out recently.
“Apart from the wonderfully subdued colours in this collection, I’m also really fond of the textures, particularly on the cushions you see above.”
The colour palette is what appeals most to me about this new Cotton On Home collection. In my recent 2016 Autumn colour trends post, I was discussing how soft greys and beiges are a fantastic base palette to use in your home and a lot of the pieces in this collection play into that. Of course, there are a few colourful pops to be had as well, and those too feel completely appropriate for cold Autumn days.
Apart from the wonderfully subdued colours in this collection, I’m also really fond of the textures, particularly on the cushions you see above. When the colours in your home and turned down, you really need to turn up the amount of texture in a space to give it some visual interest, and the tassels on those cushions do that wonderfully.
More details are coming soon about the pieces you see in this post, so I’ll keep you updated when I have more news. But I can tell you that they’ll be hitting stores and online in April/May. I’ll race you to the candles. You know I haven’t met a candle I didn’t like!
What is your fave piece from the images in this post from Cotton On Home? I’d love to hear about your Autumn decorating plans in the comments below.
Huge fan of Mark Tuckey and their work, with this range driven by Louella. Complements their furniture production so well! Must restart our talks there
