My recent bedroom makeover saw me nab a new bed, side tables, bedding, homewares and more. But perhaps the most important change in the room was the introduction of an Ergoflex memory foam mattress. I wasn’t sure what to expect from it (it seems everyone has an opinion on this topic), but I got one sent over anyway – and this is my review!
Above: A shot from the Ergoflex website. What a dreamy scene this room is, right?!
Below: The Ergoflex memory foam mattress on my new bed.
Surprisingly, the mattress arrived rolled up in a box. I couldn’t help but wonder how a mattress that comes like this could possibly give me a good night’s sleep, but I took it upstairs and opened it anyway, placed it on the bed and watched it unroll and expand.
I left it for an hour or so and then put my fitted sheet on. The mattress, when pressed on, takes the weight of your body and sort of sinks a little, moulding around you. It was certainly not like my old mattress, which was full of springs and made noises when you moved.
The memory foam rose back to take its shape once I got off it and initially it felt rather firm to sit on. I was a little dubious as to how the first night’s sleep was going to go.
Admittedly, the first night on the mattress wasn’t fabulous. It does take some getting used to because it starts off feeling particularly firm. Coming off a spring mattress, which feels bouncy, the memory foam felt hard. The second night things were better, though, and after the third night I was beginning to understand why people were raving about it. So far (it’s been a few weeks now), I’ve experienced no downside, so I’ll list what I’m loving about the Ergoflex below:
What I’m loving about the Ergoflex Memory Foam Mattress:
It feels like your body is supported; perhaps even cuddled a little
When my partner moves, I don’t wake up anymore like I did with my spring mattress
It takes the shape of your body but snaps back to normal when you get up
No noisy springs or dips like with my old mattress
I don’t have any injuries but I’m told it’s great for relieving pressure
Have you experienced one of these mattresses? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. So far everything is smooth sailing with the Ergoflex, so I’m expecting it’ll stay that way for years to come!

Hi Chris. The Ergoflex mattress is way too soft for me. Luckily I got my full refund. Would you recommend the Ecosa mattress?
Hey Jessica. Sorry to hear it was too soft, but good to know you could get a refund. The good news is that the Ecosa is quite firm, so if you’re a fan of that sorta mattress, this one is ideal (they too offer a 30-day trial).
Thanks Chris. So glad you to hear you’re loving it. Would love to see a photo of the mattress in a box!
