Stealing design ideas for your own place is best done by looking inside the homes of others. In today’s post, TLC takes a peek at an off the plan Melbourne apartment that’s loaded with on-trend Aussie design.

I'll let you in on a little secret; I get to see the styled room shots each week just before The Blocktagon reveal episode airs. And every week, I always look through the snaps and make my own judgements as I put this post together, before I have any idea what Neale, Shaynna and Darren have to say.

Imagery of new-season furniture and homewares from OZ Design needs to come with a warning; your heart will race and you will get weak at the knees. Have a medic on stand-by for this post, in fact - things are going to get visually breathtaking!I've showcased OZ Design's collections on the blog season after season and one thing they consistently do so well is offer decor solutions to address a variety of tastes. They do this by splitting their range into four style groups (Abode, Global, Coast and Arthouse), each as impressive as the next.

You know I adore a bargain; nothing gives me greater pleasure than decking my home out for next to nothing. But at the same time, I believe every home needs balance - and that's what mine has.In it you'll find a slew of budget buys alongside designer pieces I've treasured for years, and I like to think that a blend like this makes my humble abode feel resolved and well-rounded.

The dining room has got to be the most under-utilised area of the home (or am I just eating dinner on the couch way more than I should be?), and I think it has something to do with the lack of attention we give it when it comes to decorating.

Now I don't want to say that House Rules has been disappointing, because some of the spaces revealed so far this season have been truly beautiful. But, I've yet to see a reveal where I thought so many of the rooms were exceptional. Until now. Not perfect, of course, but pretty sublime and really easy to make a few tweaks to in order to correct the shortfalls.
