Shelves are the new IT thing in interiors. Sure, we got a little caught up in pendants for a while, but we’re moving toward shelves as a new style statement at home.
What’s so good about the 8 that I’ve hunted down for you today is that they’re a combo of free-standing and wall-mounted, so there are options for home owners and renters.
What’s even better is that there’s a design to suit every budget, so if your partner is giving you the evil eye for spending too much money on furniture, this should please them to no end (or at the very least, reduce the evilness of the eye a little).
Stunning Storage Ideas for the Home or Office
The Mesh Series by Bride & Wolfe
I live for these shelves and I love these shelves. There’s a whole range of colours and shapes available in the Bride and Wolfe series too. I secured the triangular pink one for the TLC Studio recently and it really pops against the dark grey wall we painted.
Bride & Wolfe have an entire collection of shelves that extend beyond this series, but the mesh pieces are by far my faves. They’re also pretty easy to get up on your wall and I think for the wow-factor they bring to a space, they’re very well-priced.

Watermelon Shelf by The Timba Trend
What I adore about these shelves is that they’re handmade and hand-painted, which brings a real feel-good factor to displaying them on your wall if you ask me.
The sense of whimsy in these pieces makes them a no-brainer choice for a little one’s room, but truth be told I’d happily display them in other pockets of my home. The creator of The Timba Trend, Connie Sharpe, has been on the blog before too, so I hold a real love for this brand!

Leather Strap Side Tables by H&G Designs
What I love about these bad boys is despite them being labelled as bedside tables (which they look stunning as), you can also use them as shelves in an entryway or other spot that’s tight on space.
I have a set of these in the TLC Studio and they look amazing. Both the leather straps and the pieces of timber come in different colourways too, so you can completely customise them to suit your room.

Conveyor Shelving Unit from Freedom
I’m so smitten with this shelving unit I can barely put it into words. It’s industrial and modern and totally taps into the indoor plant trend that’s so big right now in interiors. Doesn’t that lush greenery just totally set the look off?
The plumbing piping is a true revelation and I love the wall they hook into the wall like that. Not the best solution for renters, though I’d argue that it’s almost so good you’ve forgo some of your bond to have this in your space!
Corner Shelf from Senkki Furniture
If you’ve got a tricky little corner and you don’t know what to do with it, then I reckon this timber scenario is your friend. It’s half shelf and half shadow box, so you get double the trend in the one pieces.
Made from Playwood, it’s a clean and crisp way to add some storage to your walls without it dominating the space too much.

Mid-Century media Tower from West Elm
Be still my beating heard. I always go a bit gaga over all things mid-Century modern, and this media tower has me experiencing fits of joy and rapture. It’s so understated and has such an easy sophistication to it, don’t you think?
I also think the narrow profile makes it an ideal piece for a room that’s tight on space. I can see this in a dining room with some gorgeous china on it – or a stack of books in a living room or entryway.
Wooden Houses Shelf from Down that Little Lane
There are kids shelves and then there’s this stunning statement for your little one. It’s a bit of a showstopper and features a range of soft hues that make it a nice unisex addition to a space.
It includes hooks so you can pop it on your wall, or feel free to stand it on a tallboy or other furniture piece so your little one can reach it with ease.
Kabino Sideboard from Curious Grace
I have a bit of a crush on Normann Copenhagen. I’ve featured his collections on the blog before but out of all the pieces from this legendary brand, this sideboard is by far the standout.
It’s available in both a grey and white colour story and I can’t help but fall head over heels for it. It is everything to me. I love the clean lines, I love the sliding doors with the perforated holes and I adore the Ash Wood material used. Need it, want it, gotta have it.

Love the corner shelf!
These are all gorgeous and I am starting to really develop a love for beautiful storage especially as my house is on the smaller side. I am hoping to start saving my pennies soon for the Bride & Wolfe mesh shelf for our spare room & future nursery. I LOVE the blush colour – whether we have a boy or girl it will look amazing. I have a circular hanging shelf from Senkki in my dining room. They are a local Adelaide company and I have bought a few shadow boxes from them as gifts over the years. The quality of workmanship and knowledge that you are supporting a local brand are both extremely satisfying. Love this post!
