I kind of lose my mind at this time of year when the stores release their Christmas decorations, as it ignites my already burning desire of and devotion to all things festive. When I first saw metallics called out as a trend for the silly season in last month’s Inside Out mag, I was overcome with joy. And now that the IKEA Christmas 2014 range has landed too, it’s further emphasising glorious gold, copper and bronze tones as the go-to shades for decorating. Let’s take a look at what IKEA has to offer us this year!
Above and below: Loving the VINTERFINT table runner in a gorgeous gold and white pattern.
Standout piece: The stunning STRALA lanters. Only $12.99 for a 3-pack!
Above: These decorations are my fave from the entire collection. I cannot get enough of them. These VINTERMYS come in a 2-pack for $11.99 and you can choose gold or white colouring. There’s something to charming about these little guys, don’t you think?
If anyone in my family or circle of friends is reading this, note that IKEA has an abundant range of gift wrapping, so when you’re buying me stuff you can get some decorative paper or packaging to wrap it in! This gold and white collection above is just one colourway on offer, with divine red and green tones also available.
Of course, while gold and metallics have dominated this season, IKEA has still catered for lovers of a beautiful red and white colour story. I love the alternative take on the Christmas tree above and I love how you only need a few subtle pops of red in a typically Scandinavian colour scheme to make it feel festive.

Which is your fave look in this post? I’d love to hear about your Christmas decor plans in the comments below 🙂
Again you make me wish IKEA was in Hobart – such a fabulous range – I have 30 people coming this year so the rumpus room is being transformed into my Christmas wonderland I had been thinking traditional red, white and silver theme but the gold looks amazing!
I wonder if they have any plan to open in Tassie? They definitely should.
Good luck with all those people and have a great time decking your place out. I’m kind of jealous – though cooking for 30 would not be my cup of tea!
ha ha when I posted I hadn’t looked at the other comments first and now see that we all love the owls!
I’m heading down there to get me some Strala lanterns for my outdoor area and some tree owls! how divine are they?
The owls are such a popular hit!
A trip to ikea is definitely in order! The Owls are seriously cute
Be prepared to lost some time and money there. I always do.
Those Owls Are amazing!!!
I’m a sucker for a good bird theme
