  1. I keep searching the internet and can’t find anything anywhere to answer my question: what do you use for a mattress topper/pad and sheets? I just bought this and it’s being delivered tomorrow, but from the model at the store, I can’t see how you get a fitted pad/sheet to go on…

  2. Hello, I just bought this sofa bed. I’m excited to set up the rest of my guest/ craft room around it. My question is what size sheets do I get for it? I can’t seem to find that information. I apologize if I skimmed past it in all the reading.

    1. Hi Joyce, I’ve used queen on it in the past and they were ok. Fitting sheets on it is a bit of a hassle to be honest.

  3. Hey,
Nice review. I have been using this for 4 years. Primary usage is a regular sofa with sleepovers like 6-7 times a year.

Overall good, one small issue and one big one as my daily use observations
    – Small One – back cushions sag – all i have done is open the covers and reverse cushions every few months. – this seems to set it back to an acceptable sagging

    – Big one – there is no way to clean it – not even water stains, leave aside oil stains. Just a damp cloth is not good enough and thats the reason it wont be my replacement next time. (I was in fact searching if anyone found a solution for this that one comment on cleaning landed me here)

  4. I’m looking to buy this as our tv sofa… my favourite comfy sofa is copping it a bit from older teens and a dog, and the other sofa has been ruined! (I’ve had both for twenty years, the comfy sofa is fine except for the fabric – both from HN) I just need something we can all sit on (hence sofa bed) to watch movies.. The way my living room is set up, only one sofa has a good view of the TV (older 1960s house) This purchase will only be for a couple of years until I can afford a better quality sofa and when the kids have moved out! Comfort I can fix with cushions and blankets; but you’re right about the unattractiveness of most sofabeds, so I think i’m sold on this for price and looks; plus now they have better fabric available! Thank you!

  5. Hi Chris, I just stumbled across this blog and then followed you on Instagram. I love your ability to work within a number of different styles!! Ive used Interior Designers before and they seem a bit stuck on 1 or 2 styles so you have great range and vision!
Anyway, Im about to buy the Friheten (without chase) in the same colour as you bought and wonder what colour accent chair would look nice?? I love the mid century look and also have a thing for olive/sage green velvet??. I do also think tan leather?? Its just our spare room/office but I still want it to look awesome.
Thanks for the great review! I was considering sofabeds for $2000 plus but I really liked this one and now I have money to spend on other pretty things haha!

    1. Hey Sharon, thanks for your kind words! Real hard to recommend an accent chair only knowing the sofa it is going with. Green would look nice depending on the rest of the stuff in your room.

  6. Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess Iโ€™ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, Iโ€™m thoroughly enjoying your blog.

  7. Hi Chris,
I found your review helpful thanks. I’ve the same set up as you – I want it in my office/spare room but don’t expect to have many visitors or even to sit on it that much.
Could you tell me what’s included as I have no experience of buying sofa beds -is the mattress included or do you have to buy it separately? I assume the pillows and bed clothes aren’t included.
I’m planning to buy the 3 seater from the Dublin store.
    Moya

    1. Hey moya, no sheets or bedding but the sofa lays flat and the back cushion, as well as the cushion seating, become the mattress, so to speak.

  8. I bought this sofa bed a little over a year ago and am extremely disappointed. The fabric on the seat has worn so badly, sagged and bobbly.
I am shocked it only has z 12 month guarantee.
Extremely bad quality from a store that prides itself on design and value for money.
I would advise anyone looking for a sofa NOT to consider this one.

  9. Hi Chris, its been 4 years now since you purchased this sofa. Are you still satisfied? We have a lot bad reviews about this sofa on Czech IKEA web. People complain that the textil is not a good quality, it has puffs after few months of ussage. And they also complain about butt dent theyยดve molded soon on their sofa. But I really like the design, so despite the negative reviews Iยดd like to buy it.
    Than you for your review
    Jindra

    1. Hi Jindra, Thanks for making contact. The sofa lives in my spare room now and is mostly a sofabed for when guests stay over. Given that it hasn’t had a lot of daily use, it has held up well. I haven’t had the issues of puffs or a dent, but like I said I don’t use it every day.
