Blogging is a beautiful thing. If you’re yet to start one, I highly recommend it. I’m a trained writer and journo, but I don’t think you need to be a wordsmith to have success with a blog. You just need to have passion for your blog’s genre and the topics you write about.
And you never know what might come of it. I’ve been blogging for four years now and have landed TV gigs, presenting roles, styling work and a book deal from it.
My passion – if it wasn’t obvious – is interiors. Every aspect of them and even the outside areas too (though truth be told, I’m not great in the garden and every plant at the nursery should be worried when I approach it).
When it comes time to hang up my writer hat for the day, I do like to explore some of my fave interior design blogs to catch up with the people behind them and see what they’re getting up to in their world. That’s what I think a blog should be, at the very core; about the person writing it. You’ll see a bit more of that coming through on this blog, too!
And on that note, here are some of my faves and what makes them so special. Enjoy.
9 Interior Design Blogs you Need to Bookmark
1. Bright Bazaar
This is the blog that inspired me to start my own back in 2014. You’ll find it incredibly hard not to get excited by the adventures of its creator, Will Taylor. The world he’s created online is always bright and always happy.
It’s filled with interior tips, a peek inside his home, snaps of his colourful travels and even a few personal stories you’ll adore as well (snaps from his wedding are just too cute for words).
Take a peek at Bright Bazaar here.
2. Happy Interior Blog
Written by Igor Josifovic, Happy Interior Blog is split into three main categories: Interiors, Travel and Plants. The snaps Igor showcases of his own home as well as those of others are stunning. I’ve found myself slowly becoming smitten with the idea of filling my home with plants thanks to Igor. It’s my fave category on his blog and you’ll definitely find it inspiring. Have a look at Happy Interior Blog here.
3. Brit Decor
Mike Ahern started this blog back in 2010, based in a small Somerset village in England. I love checking into this blog regularly because I’m obsessed with the UK aesthetic. I also adore the graphics and visuals he displays across the site. They’re truly something.
He’s always giving really cool ideas on how to try something new at home. Plus he’s a big fan of baking, which is always a bonus. And he shares his recipes!
Get acquainted with Brit Decor here.
4. Inspired by Charm
This blog is everything you could ever want for the home. A home and lifestyle bible, if you will. It’s creator, Michael Wurm Jr, is an interior designer, cook, DIYer and blogger. Kinda like a male Martha Stewart, I like to think. His passion for all things interiors and cooking is infectious.
You will be jealous when you look inside his home. You will think yours needs an update immediately. It will move you to go out and buy new things. I consider that to be a good thing, of course. Check out Inspired by Charm here.
5. Recycled Interiors
I love a blog that gives you a real sense of the person who writes it. And that’s what you get when you visit Recycled Interiors. Its creator Helen Edwards is a multi-talented lady, with a strong passion for upcycling, sustainability, healthy homes and vintage decor.
In a world where so many bloggers are trying to cover every topic imaginable, Helen stays true to her niche. And I love her for it. She’s even doing a 30-day healthy home challenge you can get involved in. Visit the charming Recycled Interiors blog here.
6. Mum Little Loves
Gold Coast Mum, Hayley, doesn’t claim to be the perfect wife and mother, but that’s what I love about this blog. It’s honest, it’s real, and it gives you insight into the products she adores. You also get bonus insight into the home she’s in the midst of working on with her builder hubby.
Want to ooh and ahh over the stunning crisp white home that Hayley called Vanilla (it’s awesome, Hayley!). Simply click here to give it a visit.
7. Eye Spy Milk Bar
Katy Thomas spent years in fashion PR but eventually found her passion in Eye Spy Milk Bar. It is a beautifully bright look into her world at home. And if you find her flavour to be right up your alley, you can take her up on her home styling service.
Katy has appeared in Adore Home magazine in the past. And with renovations on the go you’re sure to see her work pop up in a few more publications moving forward.

8. Katrina Chambers Life & Design
The blog of former Block contestant Katrina Chambers is like no other. It’s jam-packed with all the interiors, design, DIY and decorating topics you need to transform your home and keep it looking lush. But the kicker; she also shares so, so much of her blogging ideas and advice here too.
This is a bible for anyone who is looking to start a blog, with so many helpful hints and tips that the other big bloggers won’t share with you. I love her openness. We need more of this in the blogging landscape! Check out Katrina’s website here.
9. Chyka
There is so much more to the divine Chyka than The Real Housewives of Melbourne. Her home and lifestyle blog gives you a glimpse into her beautiful world. It’s also full of inspiring ideas and advice for the home. Her week-long series that was dedicated to dogs was so cute I almost died.
Want to tour Chyka’s home? Just Click Here.
This lovely lady runs multiple businesses alongside filming the show and operating the blog. So needless to say there’s a lot to be learnt from her. Click here to give her blog the once over.
