Who knew that blogging about decor destinations in and around the CBD the last few years would eventually lead to the Sydney Precincts book being written and photographed by yours truly?
In today’s post I’d like to give you a sneak peek into my new book, which is just as much for interstate and international tourists as it is for Sydneysiders.
That’s probably what makes Sydney Precincts so special, actually; it serves double duty. On the one hand, it’s an amazing guide for tourists coming to Sydney and tells you about the hotspots and hidden treasures you need to eat, drink, shop and play at.
And at the same time, it serves as motivation for Sydney locals to get out and explore their suburb – and neighbouring ones – to check out places they’ve not heard of yet.
If it’s one thing I discovered about the people of Sydney when I lived there, it’s that we don’t tend to go very far outside of our own local haunts. The Sydney Precincts book is set to change that completely – inspiring you to see what’s happening outside of your regular venues!
The book is neatly split into 19 precincts, exploring suburbs within a 20km or so radius of the Sydney CBD. The book also goes a little further North, covering off some tourist must-sees beyond Manly.
Not only is it a guide on the best places to hangout across stunning Sydney, but each chapter also features interviews with locals, so you can find out where the cool kids play.
“This book is the ultimate companion for summer exploring and is a great gift for the foodies, shopaholics and design buffs in your life.”
There’s a slew of Sydney celebs, personalities, designers, bloggers and more in the book – all telling you where they love to go and what makes the amazing city of Sydney so unique for them.
Just some of the names include: Neale Whitaker, Tara Dennis, Kristy Withers from Incy Interiors, Sonia from Life Love and Hiccups,Jess from Lazy Girl Fitness, Sharon the Makeup Artist, Jessi Deakin from Dreamcatcher Designs and more!
This book took over a year to write, photography and publish. I’m so proud that Hardie Grant publishing approached me to work on it and I’m even prouder to add ‘author’ to my already expanding job title. A definite life goal unlocked and achieved, and I’m beyond elated to finally see it on store shelves.
I absolutely love how it’s turned out and I know you’re going to adore it, too. This book is the ultimate companion for summer exploring and is a great gift for the foodies, shopaholics and design buffs in your life.
