The Block teams are becoming predictable.
Don’t you think? As the weeks go on, each couple’s aesthetic is the same. Josh and Charlotte are downscale and subdued (sometimes borderline snoozey), Tim and Anastasia are a little cookie cutter (albeit nice in many cases), Ayden and Jess prove that they don’t know what they’re doing (sorry) and Darren and Dea are always a mixed bag with buckets of over-confidence and ego (defensive much?).

Anyway… let’s get on with looking at this week’s ensuite reveals. In what is becoming a bit of a regular occurrence, I didn’t agree with the judges. Have a read and a gander and please gimme your take in the comments below. I love getting your take on the rooms!
Josh and Charlotte
There were a few truly divine moments in this bathroom. I loved the entire sink area. The timber they used was just sublime. It was a true moment, but it didn’t have the sharp lines of Tim and Anastasia’s old bathroom (remember the edges that would take a kid’s eye out?).
Anyway, this space was pretty great. I felt like the two oval sinks mirrored the oval bath a little too much (I don’t want to use the term matchy-matchy), but apart from that it was subdued in colour but not in wow factor. I don’t think bathrooms or ensuites need to be over the top. The less bells and whistles, the better. Josh and Charlotte have really good restrained in that respect. Best bathroom I’ve seen in a while.
Tim and Anastasia
I wasn’t much on the floating sink area in this ensuite. It felt very heavy in the space, like it might fall off the wall. Isn’t it interesting that Josh and Charlotte’s didn’t feel that way? Perhaps there was just a bit too much white tile going on. It seemed to pull the basin down.
I’m in love with the tiles they used in the shower. What a gorgeous effect it creates on that wall. Yes, the finishes were a bit messy, but from a design and style perspective it was rather lovely. The large square floor tiles were a really nice touch and grounded the room. It was understated and elegant. These two are definitely improving each week.
Ayden and Jess
Look, I don’t know enough about The Block to know if a team gets eliminated at some point, but Jess and Ayden need to go. Argh! Those hexagonal floor tiles: sick. The two different tones of wood on the basin and the shower floor: ick. I dislike everything about this space. The TV was a high-end idea in a really confused, pedestrian bathroom.
Why were they playing the sad music when it crossed to Ayden and Jess for comment? It’s OK guys, you’re not designers, you’re not stylists. It’s just not your thing. And that’s all right!
I feel like the judges got a memo to be nice to these guys. Sorry, but I have to be truthful. No buyer is going to walk into that ensuite and think “wow”.
Darren and Dea
Didn’t like the old bathroom, wasn’t much on this ensuite. I don’t think there’s anything cool or smart about simply replicating your other bathroom but changing a few elements. Also, a bench in a shower that can seat five people; are there some swingers parties planned that I’m not aware of?
I did adore the marble in the basin though. That was gorgeous.
Relaxed? If this bathroom is relaxed, Mr Whitaker, I have the wrong idea of what relaxed is.

Looking for the grey/white tile name/brand/information on Tim and Anastasia bathroom! Any help would be appreciated!
Fantastic pic, the stones are superb!
Darren and Deas bathroom is great because its big, but i do feel their tiles although beautiful are to dark for this area, maybe a little of both would have worked better. It sort of hits you in the face, not their best work for sure. The wood in J@c, was beautiful and expected that to be in A@J room, Tim and Anastasias was the best, to be honest in my opinion they all have a lot to learn. But then that’s why they are there
