5 Feature Wall Ideas that aren’t all Paint

It’s time to say sayonara to sponging, Creatives. It, along with flat-colour feature walls are a thing of the past. It’s time to embrace some new and daring trends when it comes to making your walls real show stoppers – and many of these feature wall ideas are incredibly affordable to implement, too (bonus!). Let’s take a closer look…

5 Feature Wall Ideas that aren’t all Paint

Feature Wall Idea - Geometric Wall

Geometric Wall

If there’s a magazine that hasn’t been showcasing the geometric, colour-blocking wall, then I haven’t seen it; this look is everywhere right now (and with good reason). The use of shape is a bold move indeed, but the true magic of this look lies within your ability to play with the colour combinations you’re most drawn to. How very tailor-made!

Feature Wall Ideas - Wall Decal

Wall Decals

I saw someone giving wall decals a good bagging on Facebook last week and to that I say, Blasphemy! Sure, some decals are teetering on tacky, but a simple shape like a triangle or polka dot is an absolute winner in my books – and really allows you to add as much or as little of the design as you please. The best part, of course, is how affordable they are!

Feature Wall Ideas - Washi Tape

Washi Tape

I know; you can barely believe the design above is done with washi tape, but indeed it is! How flamin’ gorgeous is this look? This is the perfect meeting of budget and imagination – and what a wow-moment they’ve created together. Washi Tape is affordable and in so many colours and patterns these days that it really is the easiest way to make an impact.

Feature Wall Ideas - Ombre Walls

It hit the runways first, then homewares had their way with it, now ombre is hitting our interior walls (and with great results, might I add?). This look isn’t for everyone, but would look right at home in an occasional setting, where you wouldn’t spend hours and hours. Blending the colours is also not an easy task, so this look is for the adventurous at heart.

Feature Wall Ideas - Concrete

I live for concrete, so this look is making my heart skip a beat. You’ll also notice how easy it is to warm up what might be considered a cold finish; just add softness and texture for balance in the space and the concrete will feel right at home. This is rendering for your interior and I can’t get enough of it. So clean, crisp and sophisticated!

I love, love ombré – we don’t own yet but when we do a feature wall in ombré is definitely on the cards! (Might let the professionals take over for that one!)
