  1. I’m loving the Earthy Eclectic, the warmth of the desert shades of terracotta & mustard (one of my favourite colours), the use of rattan, geometric patterns & tribal elements & feels, sounds wonderful

  2. Personally I’m somewhere in between the Fluid minimalism and the Decadent Sanctuary camps… however how to marry these together and/or into or with what I already have — or even into my existing home space could be the real trick here. Wish I could just start over any time the whim strikes!

  3. Earthy Eclectic is an easy relaxed one that I like but having said that I also like an Earthy eclectic mix too, maybe not so much of what’s in that pic but it’s that idea of being able to mix in different pieces as matchy matchy isn’t something I subscribe to.

  4. I’d mix the bold colours and patterns of Modern Mediterranean, with the timber accents and natural textures of New Country, with a touch of Earthy Eclectic through plants and organic objects. What can I say, I want it all!
    Thanks for the trends x

  5. My problem is that I love them all but given the chance and the budget, would probably go with the Island Retreat because I forever seem to want to be on a beautiful Pacific island beach.

  6. Following the advice of one of my Buddhist teachers – “take what works for you and leave what doesn’t” – I’m:
    1. loving the overall vibe of Modern Mediterranean, however not so much the individual pieces in the photo;
    2. not a fan of New Country, I imagine feeling flat and deflated in that space;
    3. inspired by the fluid part of Fluid Minimalism, however prefer more colour in my spaces;
    4. adoring the sanctuary part of Decadent Sanctuary however would go for a more relaxed version – decadent doesn’t feel decadent for very long with pets in the family;
    5. loving Island Retreat – it’s a big influence in our guest bedroom I’ve almost finished – although I still think it’d feel more fun with more colour brought in through the smaller styling pieces; and
    6. recognising that Earthy Eclectic just isn’t for me.
    I think that means I’d like a Fluid Mediterranean Island Sanctuary – doesn’t sound too bad right?!

  7. Not a fan of any of these styles, if you’re any where near your 40-50’s these styles feel like they are a revisit to my childhood, timber slats, rattan, bold and colourful patterns. I suppose it’s like clothing styles at the moment, if it looks old and vintage it’s cool.

    1. Hey Karen, everything comes back around. Fashion, music, design, food…we’re always iterating on past creations.

  8. I think they are overly complicated and would be extremely difficult for people to style their own homes without real professional assistance.

    1. Hey Holly, some of them are a little trickier than others, but Island Retreat should be pretty easy to pull off at home (especially if you have a nice outdoor space to style up).
