  1. Love the article! If you do a follow-up, we’d love to be featured. We make modern Australian botanical soy wax candles at https://claremakes.com.au and based right here in Sydney.

  2. All of these candles are so gorgeous, I love reed diffusers as well.
My problem with such luxurious is I don’t want to use them, silly I know, cos can always replace them!

  3. Love the variety and am going to get on to getting some of these as I can never be without the latest candles! My partner and I came across the folk at Manor Road https://manorroad.com.au/ a month ago and while their box designs are gorgeous…they smell even better ๐Ÿ™‚ Highly recommend! They’re hand made in Perth.

  4. I love Byron Bay Candles, especially their 4 essential oil blends. I have ordered these for friends many times who always love them. They look great too as does their stall at Byron and Bangalow markets.

  5. Hi
    Thank you for your list.
I am new to candles and recently bought a candle that caused my walls to go black. I am wondering if you have tested that with your list. The candle I bought was not that cheap and was from a reputable home ware store. The brand I bought was not on your list so that was good to see.

    1. Hey Jodie. Regardless of the candle, the wick can often thicken up once you blow it out, so the next time you light it all the black burns off and can stain walls. You need to keep the wick trimmed down. Once you blow it out and it cools down, you can cut the wick down to under 1cm. Hope that helps.

  6. Thanks for this article. I also like the brands:
Luxuriate: (they offer a marble candle holder that you just place refills into and don’t have to worry about cleaning out after the candle burns down.

Sol Factorie: they have cute ceramic containers and great fragrances, also shipping is quick

Swik: they have great looking candle containers and fragrances

  7. Hi Chris, You can never have too many Candles, ever!! Lol……..Have you had a Soy Candle from “Exotique Candles” yet? Gorgeous fragrances that fill your space hot or cold, long lasting and, stunning glassware that can absolutely be re-purposed and re styled long after the wax has melted!!! Great value! All natural, no nasties and they smell divine. Diffusers and Men’s products also.

  8. Hi Chris,
We have a beekeeping business and I was just thinking of making some beeswax candles in different moulds and vessels, with essential oils added. I was wondering if you thought that they would be popular. Beeswax has a very distinct smell and also has health benefits.

    1. Hi Lynley, how exciting! There’s always a market for candles, but there are a LOT out there. So it has potential, but you’re going to be competing with many other small and large businesses. Being beeswax might set them apart.

  9. Thank you so much for this very comprehensive list- I would never have found many of these brands on my own

  10. I have to agree with you that candles are one of those essentials in your home.
My only negative with this post is that I am now tempted by the beautiful ones you mentioned lol.
I love having candles burning during day or night and my all time favourite is a winter bubble bath with a glass of bubbles and essential oil candles burning โ˜บ

    1. haha – all of these are definitely worth a whiff Deb, so I hope you get to experience some of them ๐Ÿ™‚
