IKEA’s new Nipprig Collection is a Woven and Rattan Delight
Another day, another heart palpitation.
Sometimes homewares releases are just too much for me to cope with, especially when they’re as stunning as this new IKEA Nipprig collection. My heart was racing when I first laid eyes on them late last week and it’s racing now as I type this.
IKEA, you’ve done it again. And yes, I will be asking my partner if we can gut the living room and start over. This is a regular occurrence in my home and my request to redecorate is usually met with “we don’t need a new sofa”. I would argue that, but you’ve gotta pick your battles, right?
Anyway, take a look at some of the dreamy photos from the Nipprig range below (there’s a few of them to take in) and then I’ll give you the lowdown on the concept behind the collection.
If you’re not feeling overwhelmed in the best way possible over this new range, I don’t think we can be friends. But seriously, there’s a lot to love about these pieces.
As you can see, the collection contains furniture, flooring, storage solutions, pendant lights and a whole lot more, all made from natural materials like water hyacinth, banana leaves, sea grass, bamboo and rattan. The result is a range that feels unique and natural.
IKEA actually worked with materials that had been shaped by local artisans in Vietnam and Indonesia to make this collection and I can’t get enough of it. In particular, I’m coveting the woven storage baskets you see above. I love the slight ombre effect they have going on and the green colour story channels the botanic trend I’ve covered on the blog before.
The whole collection feels natural and fuss-free. It’s going to play really well with indoor plants and a more subdued colour story like a coastal or Scandi palette.
The range is limited edition and is in stores this month.
