The Block 2014 was by far the show's best season ever. And we're talking Glasshouse, not fans vs. faves. With a new season on the horizon (read more on that here), it's the perfect time to look back on why last year was so amazing. So let's do this!

As reported on the blog earlier in the week, The Block is back for a whole new season. Rumoured to be called Blocktagon (due to the shape of the building under renovation), the show's judging panel are back for what's set to be a very challenging season. With room reveal criticism and truth bombs on the agenda, Shaynna Blaze says that despite some contestants taking her feedback badly (I'm looking at you, Dea) she still plans to tell it like it is.

Just when you thought it was safe to go out this spring and enjoy life beyond your TV set, The Block's new season is back - landing at the end of the month - and is set to have us all glued to our screens again. The ratings had hit a slump during the last season of the show, promoting the creators to adopt a back-to-basics direction for the show's 11th season, which is rumoured to be called The Blocktagon.

When your partner’s an interior designer, you’d expect that they’d always win an argument when it came to what furniture and homewares to put in the house.

The Block’s resident nice guy Darren Palmer has a foolproof philosophy to navigate through possible decor disagreements with partner Olivier.  Take a leaf out of his book the next time this conversation comes up at home!

Reno Rumble has drawn to a close and the obvious question is... will there be a season two? I'm going to get on top of that ASAP and try to find out how you can enter your home for consideration (loads of you have been asking me this). That is, if there's a season two at all.

Good golly Miss Molly. I know I saw this every week, but weren't last night's Reno Rumble kitchens the best yet? Both featured the most stunning skylights, which meant sunshine flooding into the spaces. Pull up a stool and pour me a coffee in either of these Freedom Kitchens - I'm sold!

I have to say, I've been so impressed and completely wowed by the kitchens that have been unveiled so far on Reno Rumble. The finishes are amazing, the design elements are all there and each one differs wonderfully from the next. We're in week four of the competition and I've not seen a look replicated - it's highly impressive!

I used to go batty for an industrial interior. I loved the exposed brickwork, I loved the rough textures and I adored the masculinity inherent in these sorts of spaces. Then I went off them for a while, as you tend to do with design styles and schemes.Last night's Reno Rumble reveals had me hooked on industrial again, thanks to the divine kitchen designed by Carly and Leighton below. Of course, I'm showcasing both of the sublime Freedom Kitchens that were unveiled by the teams, but there's no confusion over which one's my fave!
