I'll let you in on a little secret; I get to see the styled room shots each week just before The Blocktagon reveal episode airs. And every week, I always look through the snaps and make my own judgements as I put this post together, before I have any idea what Neale, Shaynna and Darren have to say.
There was only one room on The Blocktagon this week that made me literally gasp, and that was Shay and Dean's.You'll see the killer photo further down, but it truly gave me an out-loud OMG moment. I think they were robbed of the win and totally deserved every bit of the ten grand.
I was sure that Jo Frost from SuperNanny was a guest this week on The Block. Almost every team had set up a naughty chair in their living room. I checked, and there was no record of Jo in sight, which can only mean the Blockheads were eager to create a nook in the rooms best vantage point. Still, a lot of the naughty chairs felt awkward to me.
It was such a mixed bag of rooms this week at The Blocktagon that it's hard to pinpoint a team who were deserving to win. With three spaces to show - study, laundry and powder room - I found most of the teams got some spaces bang on-point while others fell completely flat.As always, I have a different opinion to what the judges had to say, so let's take a look at the five teams' rooms and check out what worked and what didn't.
I don't always agree with the judges on The Block and last night's episode was no different. I was very pleased to see that Whitney and Andy finished their space this time around, although as I said in last Monday's post, I thought that they should have won for their bedroom last week regardless. It showed such promise!
Either The Block judges are all living in a parallel universe this week or I am. Considering they've been in their respective field for years, I'm completely open to the latter possibility. This week's Master Bedroom Reveals on The Block were truly peculiar to me for a few reasons.
This week's gas leak at The Blocktagon worksite threw a bit of the spanner in the works for the teams, but it didn't stop some of the frontrunners presenting wow-factor rooms. It also seemed to be a battle of the feature walls in this week's reveal. Some were stellar and others fell flat.
What a week it's been in Block land, with shattering shower screens, bickering Blockheads and Luke claiming Neale is "full of sh*t". It's high-drama this season and it's only week two!Let's take a look at this week's Blocktagon bathroom reveals - from highest score to lowest score - and sort out what was working and what was woeful from the five spaces up for judging.
I won't lie; the moment I discovered that another series of The Block was landing just months after the last one wrapped, I didn't think I could take anymore. This latest edition makes it three seasons of The Block in one year, which does seem excessive even for diehard fans of the show.
