I was in Adairs last week sourcing some finishing touches for a client’s home when some leopard print bedding caught my eye. Then a leopard print cushion. And then a throw. In fact, it felt like leopard print decor was taking over the store.
Ever since, I’ve been seeing this pattern pop up everywhere. In my Facebook feed (they always seem to know where I’m shopping – it’s scary!), as well as on TV. Loads of gals on the tele are wearing it at the mo, which has me realising: leopard print decor is trending hard right now. You can’t avoid it, and neither can I, so we may as well embrace it right?
My first encounter with leopard print decor was as a teen. I know, a teenage boy excited by leopard print isn’t exactly common. But I was anything but a common teenage boy as you probably assumed already.
You see, Heather Locklear had it on her bed in my fave TV show of all time, Melrose Place. And naturally, I hassled mum to find a quilt cover set for me just like it. Of course, she did. And of course, I adored it. I didn’t have the bleach blonde hair with black roots like Heather did in the day (trust me, I wanted it and Billy Campbell!), but at least I had the bedspread to call my own.
That was probably 20 years ago. Gawd, does time fly. So how has leopard print decor changed since then? Let’s take a look at the current trend and where you can shop it.
Who doesn’t need a little Leopard Print Bedding?
So as mentioned already, Adairs seems to be leading the charge with the leopard print. The bedding above is from them (you can shop it here) and I’m loving that it’s reversible. I’m obsessed with any bedding that’s double sided because you get two looks for the price of one. I gotta say though, I’m a fan of the lighter side of the leopard print quilt cover set above. It just feels like a fresher take on the traditional pattern. But at least you have two colour stories to play with.
What I’m also loving is how it’s been styled with deep turquoise tones. So often people assume you’d be best to style leopard print with black or brown, but here it shines against cooler shades. If you’re currently rocking a luxe look at home with jewel tones and velvet armchairs and ottomans, this kinda print will look amazing in your space.
As you can see above, a tropical theme is also a fabulous one to bring leopard print into. Very jungle. Very stunning. I want it all.
Mustard is a trending colour for Autumn (see my video on styling it here), so it’ll also go great guns with a bit of animal print like the one above too. And if you’re into a kinda moody bohemian interior, it’ll also look awesome with that as well because the colour palette and textures are just perfect for it.
Choose to go Subtle, or Run Wild
That’s another thing I love about the leopard print trend at the moment: you can go soft or rather full-on. The above bedding set from Linen House is called Hannah and is part of their upcoming winter collection. Sadly, it’s not on their website yet. But it is a really charming example of leopard print feeling calm and soothing. The top side features an intricate floral pattern, while the underside sports a subtle pink and white leopard design.
The tan piping around the edge of the quilt cover and pillows allows you to introduce this tone in other pockets of the room. Think cushions, as seen above, as well as timber and rattan in a similar colour story. By introducing pastel pink and tan in artwork above or beside the bed, you end up with a cohesive look that features leopard print without it yelling at you.
Of course, if you like to live loud, you could gravitate toward the ASOS leopard print bedding below. Yes, ASOS are venturing into the world of homewares! The leopard print duvet below is only $70 and is a great option for a bold bedroom look. You can shop it here. The bonus of this one is that it features a heavy leaf motif pattern, so you can channel a jungle-inspired look for your space.
Leopard Print Addicts: You need this Wallpaper
If you’re a leopard print decor addict you’ve probably already got smaller decorative items with this pattern all over it. But have you gone all out and covered your walls in leopard print wallpaper? I’n guessing probably not. Well, now is your chance to get it on, and I mean majorly on.
Below you’ll notice a stunning wallpaper design from the icons at Cole and Sons. It’s a rather vibrant pattern that showcases leopards marching left and right across the paper. Aren’t they adorable? Now, if this particular colourway feels a step too far for you, the good news is that there are others available. And they’re much softer in tone too. Locally you can get it via Annandale Wallpapers, so give the link a click to explore some of the other choices available.
Always keep in mind with wallpaper: You don’t have to fully commit to wallpapering your wall. Why not get a sample and frame it instead? Leopard print is a stunner for a kids bedroom, so try showcasing it on a smaller scale instead of en masse. I bet your little ones would love it!

Smaller Leopard Print Moments are Just as Divine
Of course, if you have all your large-scale pieces already locked in at home but want to get in on the leopard print action, I got you covered. Loads of retail stores and selling animal print homewares, and the ones above and below are a few of my faves. I mean, I seriously never considered leopard print towels before, but why the hell not?! They look sublime.
Simply click on the links below to hit the retail websites and shop up a storm:

Below is also a divine leopard print lamp from Adairs that I’m very smitten with for a kids bedroom or study zone. It’s charming because it’s pretty muted in colour, but with a warm globe inside it emanates a soft blush light. Pair it with a photo frame and a candle and you’ve got a winning bedside table moment.
And below that, a set of awesome cushions from Pillow Talk which are giving me leopard print vibes for daaaays! I need and want those in my life ASAP if not sooner.
Like leopard print but not the full-on colour story? Look to cushions and bedding that showcase the pattern in a subtler shade like blush pink, white, or khaki.
