Everyone was a bit hard on this season of The Blocktagon. It felt like, at every turn, people were telling me that they just couldn't get into it.Some blamed the personalities of the season, others said that the buildings shape and structure was uninspiring, while others were just all Blocked out after seeing three seasons back to back in the space of a year.
The Block is almost over, people. I'm half devastated not to be recapping it every Monday morning and looking at all of the gorgeous imagery from the reveals, and half relived to have a small breather until the show returns for more in 2016.
Just when you think The Blocktagon is complete and the series is ready to wrap, a spanner is thrown in the works and a mystery apartment challenge is unveiled! On a sidenote: Can they never move the Sunday night show in favour of the cricket? Total snoozefest if you ask me!
So it was quite a gigantic week this week on The Block as The Blocktagon terrace reveals went down and the couples got the chance to re-do their failed rooms. It was such a bumper week, in fact, that I've had to split out the posts into two seperate articles!
It was a huge week on The Block this week, as The Blocktagon terraces were unveiled and the teams got a chance to re-do one of their most dire rooms. It was such a massive reveal that I've had to split it all out into two posts. This post will show you before and after shots of the re-do rooms.
I'll let you in on a little secret; I get to see the styled room shots each week just before The Blocktagon reveal episode airs. And every week, I always look through the snaps and make my own judgements as I put this post together, before I have any idea what Neale, Shaynna and Darren have to say.
There was only one room on The Blocktagon this week that made me literally gasp, and that was Shay and Dean's.You'll see the killer photo further down, but it truly gave me an out-loud OMG moment. I think they were robbed of the win and totally deserved every bit of the ten grand.
It was such a mixed bag of rooms this week at The Blocktagon that it's hard to pinpoint a team who were deserving to win. With three spaces to show - study, laundry and powder room - I found most of the teams got some spaces bang on-point while others fell completely flat.As always, I have a different opinion to what the judges had to say, so let's take a look at the five teams' rooms and check out what worked and what didn't.
I don't always agree with the judges on The Block and last night's episode was no different. I was very pleased to see that Whitney and Andy finished their space this time around, although as I said in last Monday's post, I thought that they should have won for their bedroom last week regardless. It showed such promise!
